|I started in genealogy about a year after my mothers death in 2007. What an amazing journey this has been! |
I live in Oregon, and my interests are definitely in Iowa. My three sisters and myself took our dear mothers ashes to Iowa to bury her there with her family. It was an incredible journey back to our families roots, including seeing where her parents and grandparents were buried.
The surnames I am researching are: Davis, Quivey, Lyon, Fahl, Nelson, Grange, Hanson, House, Hunt, Merritt, Spikerman, Brickley, Ireland, Tallman to name just a few.

Are you related to this person. If so I will transfer MY memorial to you. I see you posted a duplicate memorial after ours was initially posted. I have added the obituary to our memorial and linked her husband to her. Her birth date on your memorial is not correct according to the obituary, so I corrected that on our memorial as well.

Thanks for linking Caroline's parents.

We could be cousins! The House family which arrived in Iowa around 1855, Benajah and Alymra are my line. His older brother Jeremiah II and his family arrived with them, in or around the Madison Twsp. I have very indepth informaiton about my line and would like to share.

I have made the links. Coicidentally, I was just leaving to go over there. I will take photos of the graves and post them later. (No need to do a photo request, as I won't be able to "claim" it while I'm out.)

I have added the photos to Ed, Joe and Iva May's photos. I feel bad that you had to wait a long time for your photos. I have only been a volunteer photographer for a few months. Since I am currently unemployed (I am hopeful that will change soon) I have been checking nearby counties to try to fulfill requests from cemeteries people don't seem to visit very often. Rose Hill is about 50 miles from my home, so it took a while for me to make it that far. I think my next trip is going to be to a cemetery that has over 70 photo requests.
Do you have any other photo requests for central Iowa that haven't been done yet?

I was at Rose Hill yesterday and found Evelyn's grave. She is buried with her husband so if you will add him to the cemetery and let me know, I will download the picture to him as well. In the same block are:
Joe Wenke 1898 - 1973
Iva May Wenke 1897 - 1975
If this couple is related to you, add them to the cemetery as well and let me know. I took a picture of their stone also.
