I was born in Vaiden, MS, on Dec. 31, 1954 to Alf Trotter Collins and Juanita Hambrick Collins.|
I lived in Vaiden, MS until 1979, Winona, MS until 1981, when I moved to Jackson, MS. In 1990, I moved to Florence, MS, where I still reside.
I have two wonderful sons, Sean and Cody, and I worked as a Level 2 Computer Field Technician for AmSouth Bank, In-House Technician for Trustmark Bank and Field Technician for CompuCom servicing 10 Lowe's stores in Mississippi.
I have an A.A. Degree in Pre-Law; a B.S. Degree in History with a Minor in English; and a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in History.
I have written and maintain 240+ web pages, including listings of the burials in the Vaiden Mississippi Cemetery (White) and the Vaiden Community Cemetery (African-American).
So far, my family history has been traced back to my 14th Generation Grandfather, John Collins I, who was the keeper of the Gael (prison) for King Charles I of England (son of James I - of the King James Bible fame). Other relatives include another King (Elvis).
Other hobbies include motorcycles, making music as a drummer, historical research, adding entries to Find-a-Grave (since 08/12/2000), and watching and collecting DVDs.
PLEASE CHECK FIRST TO SEE IF ENTRIES HAVE ALREADY BEEN ADDED AND MAKE SURE THAT ANY MARKER PHOTOS AND DATES ARE LEGIBLE.

I see, where you wrote on his memorial, that he is your uncle?? Which sibling of his is your ancestor? His Aunt, Mary Jane, married my 2nd cousin Rufus Cook... looks like we are related through marriage :)

Hello, I have deleted my Martha Hill (80847312). I appreciate the info you wrote on her memorial. Very helpful. I live in Kansas and Mississippi is a vacation spot for us. I have been to the cemetery where the Hillís are buried.
Thanks, Dorothy Hill Erickson (47341913)

Thanks for all your hard work!
I did a Google search about Vaiden, MS and your Find a Grave link popped up and I thought you might be able to help. One, if not more, of the Smith lines that settled in and around Lincoln Co., MS are connection to the Jackson line the lived at Vaiden... and several people researching these lines are trying to located the Jackson Family Cemetery listed on Find a Grave in Vaiden. Do you have any idea where it is or know anyone who might? Any help you could give would be very much appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Lincoln Co., MS

|Robert Sullivan||Col. William Mead|
Thanks for sending me the wives and children of Col. William Mead (your email of 9-9-14 through Find A Grave)(Find A Grave Memorial #65690218).It always excites me when someone else is researching my family ancestors. Some of the information is new to me, but mostly I have previously collected the same as you have provided. As it turns out, William Mead is my 5th great grandfather. My line runs through his son Nicholas Mead, to daughter Dionesia Mead who married William Sullivan (my 3rd GGF) in 1808 in Bedford, VA. They subsequently moved to Ohio.
Might you also be related to William Mead? and, if so, how do you relate? I would be most pleased to hear from you -- My email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I had requested the transfer of William's memorial some time ago, planning to add a bio and links. But, as is often the case, it was good intentions not fulfilled. Perhaps we can collaborate on posting a bio.
|James Coston||Vaiden surname, Mexia Cem.|
Checking to see if this is someone important to the Vaiden name, maybe Ammie's mother, and want her in a family plot foto.
Three markers are side by side and they are:
Mrs. E.T. Michard, Ammie then Joseph Vaiden.
Should I include her or not. ??
Later, James Coston
