My aim is to honor the past. Items added to biographies are typically information I receive via email from unknown contributors and post to memorial. I do NOT fact check so take it for what it's worth...further research.
THE STORY TELLERS by unknown We are the chosen. My feelings are, in each family, there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all those who have gone before. We are the storytellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story.
Nathanial Rufus Powell Hi I'm related to the Powell family and I was wondering what part of the cemetery you found Nathanial R. Powell in. My mom, sister and I walked through the whole place yesterday and couldn't find it. Also, do you know where I can find more info on the cemetery? An office maybe? Thank you for your time
Oak Rest Cemetery Hi Carol, We respectfully request permission to use the cemetery entrance sign photo in our online tree with credit. Marie has a cousin interred there and the photo will make a great addition.
