I enjoy visiting cemeteries, taking photos of the gravestones and statuary. I was so excited when I discovered the FIND A GRAVE website because I finally have a place to use the information I have been gathering. |
My special interests are my ancestors' families: McCorkle, Brandon, Locke, McLeod, Coleman, Yeomans/Youmans, Rountree, Gardner, Webb, Moore, Brashear, Pitts, Hall, Forney, Hoke, Bergner, Balfour, Abernethy, Givhan, Johnson, Mobberley, Potts, Pegram, Bumpass, Matthews, Perry, Coats, Jenkins, Dorsey, Pope, Chapman, Dixon, Porter, Sandifer, Dickinson, Loughlin, Wallette, etc.
Recently I have begun research of my husband's family and am interested in the Landrum, Carter, Pruitt, Redmond, Music, Wilkie and King families.
My profile photo is of the real "Little Marie." She was Marie Chapman Senyard, daughter of Mary Ethel Brashear and Dr. Oscar Chapman, sister of Elmo Mobley Chapman, and wife of Faye Senyard. She was my grandmother Alice McCorkle Coleman's first cousin, and, though I never knew her personally, I know that she, like many other members of our family, was very interested in preserving her family's history and heritage, as I am. I use her picture to honor her. This picture is courtesy of Moses M. Coleman, Jr., my father.
Much of the personal family info that I have been able to add to my family memorials comes from the book "Granny Bess" which contains historical info, letters, newspaper articles, and photos of the McCorkle, Brashear, Moore, Webb, Dorsey, Johnson and related families.
Two other excellent sources of information for Moore family research are the book "Rodeham Moore of Patrick County, Va - His Descendants and Known Kin" by Merle Moore, and The Association For The Descendants of Rodeham Moore. The Association is a national organization and has an internet web site.

Thanks for putting the photo on the other memorial. I know that I always appreciate someone letting me know if I inadvertently add a duplicate. At least now her married name is sorted and others can find her.

Sorry for the confusion. I requested removal of the partial inscriptions since they are now redundant as all relationships have been established via the connecting links.

I will check out Find a Grave #137575196, thanks.
Actually Nancy Rozell is an aunt. My 2nd g grandfather is Miles Rozell who married Lucy Ann Williams, both died in Graves Co., Ky. but I do not have the grave site yet.
I am on Ancestry.com but not a member at this time. I have recorded my family lines however on ancestry and this branch of my line is recorded back to my 106th g grandfather who was born in the 2400's BC. This is thanks to an 1800's Irish historian's research.

I see that we share a common 5th GG Mother. Thank you for sharing your information. My line continues down to David, then John, then Nancy who married Miles Rozell.
I see that you also have Moore's in your line as I do. My Moore ancestors are John C, to Roy, to Graham up the line in NY and then onto Ireland.

Hi Little Marie,
Thank you for turning over my aunt's record. I have connected her to her parents as well as added a note about her two sons.
I will keep control for now.
And thank you for the work you do. It is appreciated.

Thanks so much for the photo!
I have just linked her to her mother, Mary Rebecca Taylor Ivey. But, if that links her also to a father, please delete that. The link is to the wrong grave and I've not been able to get it un-linked on Mary Rebecca's page. I'll keep trying. Thanks again! Linda
|Peachykeen||RE: Robert C Anderson|
Thank you, I will email her. I have actually met with Claudia before, but had lost touch with her and wasn't able to contact her. Thanks again!
|Peachykeen||Robert Copeland Anderson|
I saw on Find A Grave Memorial# 107444776 that the Cherry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery gravesite for Robert Copeland Anderson has no stone. He is my GG-Grandfather. Some of my family members have been to the cemetery looking for his grave, do you know of it's exact location? If so, we would love to be able to find and mark it. Thanks so much for your assistance!
