Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Swink, Oklahoma 20 Aug 1938, the youngest son of Sidney Tolbert (Tollie) Strain Sr & Mabel Carolyn Rainey. I was raised in Swink attending Swink & Ft Towson schools. My last 1 1/2 years of school were in Arlington, TX before quitting and joining the US Navy in October 1955. I met my future wife, Peggy Janette Cox while attending Arlington High. We were married 11 May 1956 after I graduated from Class "A" Pipe Fitter School. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on 11 May 2006.

I spent 20 years in the US Navy retiring in 1975. I then moved back to Swink, OK working for Brown & Root and Weyerhaeuser at the Valliant, OK plant for 23 years.

After retirement I became interested in genealogy and have been following my roots since 2000 and have enjoyed every minute of it. At present I have 7141 people connected in my file.

My major lines are Strain, Davis, Rainey, Cox, Fortner and anyone who is connected. It has been an amazing journey and have met so many people in the process and received quite an education. I just found out last week that Haltom City, TX is named after my 3rd cousin once removed.

Oran Wayne Blankenship,(#46889190
Roger, You have done a great job on my uncle's, "Wayne" Blankenship, memorial. I applaud all your efforts in getting his memorial on Find-a-grave. He died during WW 2, when I was 7 years old, before I ever got to know him but my family talked about him many times back in the 40's and 50's.

Will you transfer his memorial to me so that I can maintain it with my Rainey family members.
Thank you
Jerry Turecky

RE: John Murray
John, Hi... I too am retired and searching for relatives. i became a F.A G. member to see if i could make someone else s search easier. so i started at St Anthony because i have my grandmother there. i went to the office and explained find a grave to them. they gave me an ok. about 2 weeks later they called me in the office and told me their lawyers said that i could do it anymore because it was a private cemetery and they didnt want to get sued.
so with that said i would not be able to find out if there are any more Murrays there. i can however take photos of Patricia and Mary's grave if you would like. Send me their plot #s and who knows maybe John is with them.

Roger, I added granny's picture; isn't she beautiful. She was about 16 or 18 years old. Would you transfer her memorial to me so that I can maintain it.

RE: Oran Wayne Blankenship
Hi Roger, yes I would be glad to make the transfer. I am actually in Hawaii this week and have taken some additional photos of Oran's burial site just today. Once I have added the new photos I will make the transfer.
