This site helps preserve our family histories and information that can fade with time from our cemeteries. I'm glad to be able to contribute and want to thank all of you who have contributed to this wonderful resource.|
My husband deserves many thanks for driving me to cemeteries or stopping at ones we see along the road as we travel. He helps me watch where I step and for things that crawl. He has walked many of these cemeteries with me or patiently sat waiting for me.
My Great-Uncle Will walked the cemetery in Cherokee, Texas with me when I was in grade school and told me about some of the people buried there. I wish I had been old enough to realize how important that information was. He was from the time when the men in the community dug the grave for someone for free and it showed love, honor, and respect.
At that same time in my life my Grandmother told me not to step on the graves as a way to show respect. She was also an example of love and respect in her actions as I watched her clear the weeds from my Grandfather's grave by chopping them with a hoe.
If I've created a page for one of your family members or friends, I will respect your request and happily transfer the page to you. Please use the Edit tab on the page to request the transfer so all the information is available.

I just happened to stumble upon the photo of the graves of William Avery and Ruby Watkins Grice. these were my grandparents. it is the first time i have seen their actual graves. although i was at my grandmother's funeral, i was never able to go see it afterwards, living out of state. it is amazing to see this on here.

Thank you Betty for adding the Death Certificate to the memorial. I previously mentioned taking off the bio about Travis making correction to spelling of Crabb. I do believe it should stay. I also see that there is no way there could have been confusion about the date of death and state he was born. It seems people back then just did not know their own place of birth much less a relative knowing. There has always been confusion with he and his siblings about which Texas county they were born. I do believe this my relative as, with Travis D. Crabb's statement; plus, I recently found his other son Calvin, was living in Llano Cty from at least 1944 - 1948. Again, thank you so much.

Hi Betty - My name is April and I work of an oil and gas company and I am doing some genealogy on a mineral reservation made back in 1930 by an Luther F. Harris, who I believe is a great uncle of yours. He was the brother of John Cobb Harris, George Clifford Harris and Clarence Davis Harris, the gentleman on this page who you left flowers for....you might be Betty R. Harris who has shown up on ancestry as a niece.....would you please contact me at email@example.com, and I will give you more info. Because this is a public site, I don't want to put too much info on it. Thank you!

Hi! Could you please remove Steve Thompson (#58797596) as a son of Sam Thompson. He is not a relative. (My great-grandaunt, Ollie John Thompson, died in 1912, and could not have been the informant.) Thanks!!!

Thanks for the suggestions. I gladly incorporate additional information in memorials, when reliable sources are provided. All too often in my experience, data submitted via F/Gís 'automated' suggestion system is inaccurate, and sometimes even conflicting. Since the automated system provides no way to cite sources, I ask that all corrections/suggestions be submitted with evidence supporting each proposed change, by using the Suggest any other correction or addition option under the memorialís EDIT tab. Edits remaining undocumented after two days will be declined.

Betty, thanks so much for the Find A Grave # for Pernel Berry's mother. I have sent you a edit to link to 48382294. The Berry's in this cemetery are all part of our Berry family. Because you sent this information we were able to clear up the mystery of Gretchen in our family tree.
