Bio Photo That's 1955

I live in the high desert of San Bernardino County, CA.

I've always been interested in the past. I bought my first antique, a little china dog, when I was about 11.

In 1977, I started doing genealogical research. I acquired quite a bit of info before putting it aside and going to work. (My children were then in school) My research was relegated to trunk in the garage for about 27 years.

Two years ago I had to stop work due to back problems. I started the research again to keep my mind agile and active. It's hard because I can only sit for 5-10 minute intervals before having to lay down. I do have the help (or is it hinderance?) of my keyboard-hopping, monitor-obscuring cat, Oreo.

My goal is to complete an Obenland family tree tying all members in the United States together, plus their ancestors in Germany. At the same time, I'm building memorials here on Find A Grave.

Anyone out there having info on any Obenlands, (or families derived from Obenlands) please email me. And if you have pictures, all the better!!!!

If this is a relative, please request a transfer. I'm in the process of transferring all my NJ memorials and would prefer they go to relatives, no matter how distantly related.

RE: Nortons in Lexington Cemetery
Not related, maybe connected. Trying to sort out information on George W Norton who had the nail factory who was born 1777 and died 1856-1858. It was told his widow (and this does not add up) married in 1837 William W Ater b 1785, but dates do not add up. I am connected to William Ater. Thanks for your work.

Do you know he plot for Francis Lee? If so, add it. I didn't see him in a walk about of this large cemetery.

Mysterious Deaths
Dear Cecilia,
I have been doing some research on the Shaffer line in my tree and had a question. My several Great Aunt Elizabeth Shaffer married Joseph Weimer and they had 8 children together. For an unknown reason, 4 of those 8 children died within September of 1860, the oldest only being 10 years old. Do have a clue to what could have happened? I have looked a bit into events that happened during that time period and have not found much. Any help would be gladly appreciated.
