Hi, my name is Kris Burns (nee Ockenden)
I was born & raised in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, SE England, & now live in the NW of England.
I am tracing our family tree, & I am interested in the following surnames:
OCKENDEN, MUSK, PYLE, POTTER, OSBORNE, JEX & KIRBY. (no matter where they are in the world!)
My late Father died of cancer, & his wish was to be cremated & his ashes scattered at sea. I did this for him, but felt sad that I did not have a place to go to remember him, until a friend told me about this site! I now feel, so much happier, and can visit him when ever I feel the need.
I have also started to add other deceased relatives, such as my Grand Parents, who I have linked to other family relatives as well. Sadly, I live too far away from their graves to visit.
I am also interested in Manchester United FC,
(The Busby Babes) & The BEACH BOYS
(Carl Wilson & Dennis Wilson) who's graves I have visited, via this excellent web site.

LETTER FROM HEAVEN
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness;
Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: It does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low;
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street
and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go....from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear and never forgotten Kris. I'm so, so sorry I've been away from find a grave for such a long time. But I've suffered a terrible loss I just cannot deal with. I lost my eldest son David due to an undetected heart condition. He suffered a stroke and was in the hospital intubated and in a coma until he went to heaven. You're a mum, you can imagine the pain I'm going through. I also suffer from a heart condition and other conditions that affect my heart. And this tragedy almost killed me too. I've been submerged in this horrible deep depression I just couldn't come out of. Now I'm ready to, actually, continue living and decided to come back to Find A Grave. I haven't been able to make a memorial for my son yet, because the sadness is still too much for me. But, I'm working on it as we speak, and I wanted you to be the first friend to say hello to upon my return to "life". I'll be visiting your wonderful fam and friends, and hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for your reply. I have not yet read her books, but I want to read all three, because I know that although the series is great, I'll get more from the books. There are just some things that can't be expressed on screen as they can be in the written word.
I'm sorry to hear your time on Find A Grave is limited now,but I know how hard it is to hold down a job, run a house and family, etc. I am fortunate enough to be retired, but I wish I contribute more to Find A Grave than I do. I also try to look after an elderly Aunt and Uncle, both in their 80's but slowly fading.
We all just do what we can o here,and every little bit helps us all. Have a wonderful Spring and enjoy the personal time you do have .

Dear Kris,
Thank you very much for all your contributions on Find-a-Grave, but most especially for creating the Memorial for Jennifer Louise Lee Worth! She was an exceptional Human Being and deserves to be recognized for her many contributions. I started watching "Call the Midwife" when it was first televised here in the US last year and have been very uplifted by the shows.
My own ancestors all came from the British Isles (except for one branch from Germany) and I've always felt drawn to UK and the speech, customs and traditions. I hope to visit there someday.

I am totally confused and I appreciate the Mother's day token of March 10th that you left. However, I thought your MOM'S DAY in the UK was March 18th, that's why I did not leave a flower, as yet.

Hi Kris,
Arthur Robert musk was my Great Grandfather which I believe makes us related. He was the brother of your grandad. My Grandad was Cecil Musk who has since passed over. He was Arthurs son. Thank you for putting the family tree on the website. we never knew what happened to Arthur other than he was killed in the war.
We are going to France this year and will take time out to visit our Great Grandfathers grave to pay our respects.
