-She Walks These Hills-|
"She walks these hills in a long black veil, she visits my grave when the night wind wails.
Nobody knows, nobody sees but me...."
(song lyrics by Dill and Wilkins)
For years I have been intrigued by researching the history of my family. I had no idea when you pull one thread, dozens more appear. I have met many wonderful fellow historians in this pursuit and in this aspect I am forever grateful to Find A Grave.
I simply enjoy people's stories and each grave and headstone mark a life that has a story that is waiting to be told once again.
Often times we are so consumed by our own lives we forget- or overlook the voices from the past. They were here before us, we can learn from their lives.

I've had a chance to add a detailed biography for this Confederate physician. Thanks again for the transfer.

Hi Sandy - I can't imagine what's wrong with my email address. In case I wrote it incorrectly, here it is again: firstname.lastname@example.org.
I don't have a photo of Virginia Waller, but I can give you contact information for one of her children and some of her grandchildren. (I "met" them on Facebook.)
Claudia Straw and her mom at email@example.com.
On Facebook: Waller Austin, Christopher Austin
A good contact is professor Sean Heuvel, who edited my grandmother's memoirs and knows most of the family: firstname.lastname@example.org
Let me know if this works out. As a backup email, you can write to my law office at email@example.com
Good luck!! Sharon

I need some help. I'm trying to locate the Advent Christian Church Cemetery in the Beaverdam area of Hanover County. Do you know where this is located or if the church is renamed? I know it existed in 1983 but cannot find it on Find A Grave which is unusual.
Would you be willing to share info? firstname.lastname@example.org

I got that wrong. Bennet and my great-great-grandfather, Samuel, were brothers. Their father was Thomas. Sorry.

I, too, am a relative. Bennett was my 2nd great-granduncle. His father, Thomas, was a brother of my great-great-grandfather, Samuel.
How are you related?
I have the book Puryears of America by Jay Puryear. Is this the same one you have.

I have sent edits for the record- the stone you have is for Anne Marie Clarke d/o Thomas Clarke and Elizabeth Mauzy. She married Goerge Knox in 1843 in Henrico Co. Anne is the mother of John Jeter and Helen. Sarah Manson is the mother of the children you have attached, but she died in 1840. She is also buried at Shockoe. His third wife is Sarah Truehart who George married in 1852.
