My interest in findagrave started when I worked on a family tree for my husband. We found some of his relatives and where they are buried through this site. It was comforting to look at their headstones and imagine what life was like for them more than 200 years ago.|
I would like to thank all the volunteers for their time and effort in photographing and documenting the grave sites. I was so impressed with their work that now I am a volunteer and I enjoy spending my free time at the cemeteries documenting headstones of which some, unfortunetly, will be totaly unreadable in a few years.
In photographing cemeteries I noticed some of the older, hard to read headstones have been scratched to try and make out a name or date. I DO NOT alter the headstones in any way, instead, I take several photos from different angels to try to read them.
If you find any mistakes, please contact me. I am not perfect and do make mistakes and when they are pointed out to me I gladly make the correction.
Any photo from a cemetery that I've posted at Find-A-Grave may be used for family trees, personal use, etc.

Thank you for all the work you are doing on Find A Grave. I really appreciate the fact that you post multiple photos of graves. It is nice because I don't live close enough to go see them, and I can read the whole tombstone. I'm sorry that others are not as grateful. Keep up the awesome work and know that you are a blessing to many.

Please remove all but one of your pictures on Errington grave sites.
The names are:
Easter Lillie Errington
If a name is not listed above please remove all but one of your images.
These are my relatives and I would like to post pictures of them not a lot of grave site photos.
Posting more then one grave site photo when you are not a relative is a little rude. Please remember that there are families that want to post their pictures not really someone elses.
Thanks, Mark Errington

Thank you so much for the Rivers transfers. As it turns out I descend from six families that make up The Lost Tribe. I think you have found graves of my GGGG Grandparents Capt Lemuel Red Byrd and Wife Annie Weaver. I have added their memorials and they are indeed buried at Byrd Cemetery.
My 93 year old Mother and her 97 year old double first cousin are assisting me. Capt Byrd and Annie Weaver Byrd are indeed buried there. I'm trying to work fast while I have these wonderful sources and the records they have. I may be asking to use the photos you have that you weren't sure of when you photographed the Byrd Cemetery at Mt Vernon because I'm almost sure now of who they are. I'm researching further. You didn't have full names and all information at the time.
I really appreciate you work as does my entire family who are following my work.
Kindest Regards, Nancy
