I live in Texas and Arkansas. I am researching the following families:
Roberts, Bridges, Spinks, Henshaw, Banks, Reames, Reaves, Lowe & Sanders/Elrage. All should be located in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, California, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Don't hesitate to contact me if I have made a mistake and I will make the corrections. If you have additional info, please let me know. For many sites I use the info off of the headstone and hope this is correct. If you are requesting a transfer, please include your member number. Thanks

I am searching for the parents of Hurley, Rooney, Loretta, Viola and Lucy Roberts about 1900 in Logan Co AR. I think the mother was Ada Wright Roberts. All of these children were living with friends and relatives in the 1900 census. Do you have any info on this family?

RE: Cynthia Ann Edman Bridges
Thank you so much for looking for information about William Cyrus Edman and Mary Jane Boyles Edman. Your information is consistent with what I have.
William Cyrus Edman was born between 1830-1834 in Burlington Twp., Licking County, OH to William & Anna (McKinley) Edman. His father died in December 1833. His mother remarried to Samuel R Conner (Conier) sometime between 1835-1840; his step-father died before 1850. In 1850, his mother, Anna Conner, Wm C, brother John M, and two step siblings were living in Morgan Twp., Knox County, OH next door to Anna's daughter, Elizabeth Ann Edman Sellers. His brother, John, married in 1855 and started farming for himself in Burlington Twp. Licking, OH. In 1860, Anna and Wm were living next door to his oldest brother, Hugh C Edman, in Chester Twp., Morrow County, OH. His mother died sometime between 1860-1870, probably in 1860, and was buried in the Conard Cemetery in Burlington Twp., Licking, OH. The Conards were close family friends.
William shows up next in 1870 farming near Long Creek, Panola County, Mississippi with a wife and two children. In 1880, they were living in Omaha Twp., Boone County, Arkansas with three children. Here, he listed his occupation as machinist and that his parents were both born in Germany. In fact, if I have the right associations, his parents were both born in Virginia. The older ancestors did come from Germany; it is probable that he heard stories about his German heritage. His father was noted for being a family historian. Here, we lose William's trail. It is probable that he died in Clarksville, Johnson County, Arkansas before 1900. It is also probable that Mary Jane died in Johnson County, Ark. We know that Mary J Edman bought 80 acres of land in Johnson County, Ark on 16 July 1889.
As you know, Cynthia Ann Edman married Alva Marion Bridges on 14 Dec 1884 in Clarksville, Johnson, AR and had seven children. Cynthia died in 1903 and was buried in Stigler, OK. Alva died in 1932 and was buried in Carson Cemetery in Dustin, OK.
Janette Edman married William W Graves on 27 Feb 1892 in Clarksville, Johnson, Arkansas. She died 17 Mar 1899 in Memphis, TN.
The youngest daughter, Bathsheba, was last found living with her sister, Cynthia and her family, in Twp. 11, Creek Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma).
From the Fold3 database "US Confederate Soldier's Compiled Service Record, 1861-1865, William C Edman, age 27 (1834) enlisted in the Confederate Army on 9 Jul 1861 in Panola, Mississippi and was assigned to Capt Danden's Co (Jefferson Light Artillery). He served with this unit under several commands, Capt English Co, Capt Graves Co (Issaque Artillery), and Capt Hooles Company. I do not know if any of these units were involved in rail transportation during the war. He was taken a prisoner of war on 4 July 1863 at Vicksburg, Miss. He was apparently released in a prisoner exchange because he was with the Hudson Battery of Mississippi Volunteers when his unit was surrendered by Lt Gen H Taylor (CSA) to Maj Gen E R S Canby (USA) on May 4, 1864. He was paroled by the US Government on May 12, 1865.
What I find incredible about this story is that William traveled south and joined the Confederate Army when the rest of his family were strong Union supporters. William did have another cousin, Samuel Likens Edman, who was known to be in the Indian Territory during the 1880-1900 era. He supposedly died in Joplin. Missouri in 1900.

Cynthia Ann Edman Bridges
Dear N. Roberts,
As per your posting about Cynthia, you have considerable information about her family. Thank you for posting it. You noted that she was the daughter of William Edman & Mary Jane Boyles. Do you have additional information about William and/or Mary Jane? I am trying to tie William Edman to Licking County, Ohio Edman families. Thank you for your help, time and effort.

Do you have any more information on Dillard, other than what is on his memorial Page? I show that he was also married to Flora Fink.
