Bio Photo Having recently retired from a career in aerospace, the genealogy bug was planted in my ear by my loving wife, Donna. We have been traveling across Texas and New Mexico visiting cemeteries of my ancestors. The picture is artwork in a Texas town along Highway 380.

I have been overwhelmed with a wealth of information (thanks to the internet) on my lines of Tuttle, Means, Thurston, Lake, Brown, Gibson, Bryant, & Pattison. I have just begun!

Donna and I discovered the Aspermont Cemetery in Aspermont, Texas on the way back from New Mexico in October 2010. It struck us that much of the history there was lacking on Find A Grave, and we resolved to document the entire cemetery. A second trip in February 2011 convinced us it was a bit overwhelming; however, we planned a third trip October 2011 and spent three days, snapping away. All our photos are now posted and new pages created.

RE: John Manning at Ashby
Yes, the information helps a little. After I was thinking about it for a bit, I realized that its entirely possible that at one time the First Parish Burial Ground could have been part of the Village Cemetery. The reason for my confusion comes from the fact that in the Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots, the cemetery location is Village Cemetery located in Ashby, 55. (I can't figure out what 55 is) Unfortunately, that's the only info it shows and if I want to see the whole thing I have to order the document. Its from Vital Check. I can't stand the info that doesn't allow me to check the document itself.

Your picture on this memorial could be added to his wife's memorial.

RE: Hitchings and Simonds
I couldn't find out who is in Grave #1. Would you happen to know who that might be?

RE: Charles and Bertha Hitchings
You're very welcome. I try to get them done within a day or two but this time of year I prefer doing them when it isn't raining or snowing so thought I'd get them done before it rains again later today. Samuel Simonds' grave is unmarked. I put a comment with the photo.

I do believe that the two cemeteries are the same, but will follow your suggestion. Thanks! I will remove my entries.
Hope your holidays are good ones as well.

I must have had a senior moment there. When I went and checked the memorials, I see what you mean. Yes, these two cemeteries should be merged.....they are the same cemetery. Sorry about that.

PS the cemetery doesn't need to be merged. She has them in the proper's just that I accidentally posted a duplicate.

However you want to do it is fine with me. I just don't want to delete the memorial until your photos are in the right memorial. Lots of work to photograph these cemeteries. If you just want to post the photos to her memorial I can just delete mine. Let me know what you decided to do. Her memorial has photos of the stones, but not the cemetery sign.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

Barnett memorials
The memorials I made for FM Barnett and NJ Barnett are duplicates, and I need to remove them. The other poster entered their full names, plus family links and evidently I goofed up in a search. Anyway, you posted a couple of photos on my two memorials, one of which is the cemetery sign that does not appear on her memorial. I'm sorry for the mix-up but I did save your photos just in case. The two memorials you need to post them to are:
Francis Marion Barnett 14832404 and Nancy Jane 14832456

If you prefer, I can post the copy I made of your photos and post them with your name in the description.
Please let me know what you want to do so that I can remove my memorials.

Yes, the main reason I requested the Miss be removed is because the name does become unsearchable that way. Also you can not put quotes in any name field as it causes other problems.

For example (just to show you) go back and edit one of the names and put Miss in quotes and then the name (the way you had it before) and save it, leave the edit screen. Now go back in again to edit the name. You should notice that the name field is empty. Anything after that first quote becomes blank in the name field for some reason.

A couple ways to show she was a Miss is to put in the transcription field if there is a photo or you can mention it in the bio.

Ooo I almost forgot and I apologize, I was working on Acton records the other day and sent a couple birth/death locations as Acton they were supposed to be Ashby. Glad I checked. I resent the edits to you. :(
