|I am a retired 80 year old systems analyst. 28 years ago I undertook a family history project to identify the descendants of my paternal 3rd great-grandparents, James McMonigle & Osse Jacobs through five children. I have also been identifying the descendants of my paternal grandmother's family line - the Descendants of George Mowrer & Catherine Ruby of Harrison County, Indiana. Peggy Byerly of Corydon, Indiana has also been involved in both of these projects. Peggy has taken hundreds of grave markers photos in the area of Harrison County, Indiana and has researched data and found obituaries posted on the Find-A-Grave web site for these two family lines. |
I maintain two family history web sites on my McMonigle and Mowrer projects. If you are interested in viewing these sites, send me an email and I will send you the links. I am particularly interested in hearing from any related people or researchers who are related to any of the family lines.
NOTE - MOST OF THE MEMORIALS I CREATE ARE RELATED IN MY MAINTAINED EXTENDED FAMILY HISTORIES AND I LINK THE MEMORIALS WHERE POSSIBLE. I REQUEST GRAVE PHOTOS WHEN NEEDED. I ALSO ADD OBITUARIES, PERSONAL PHOTOS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTS AND IMAGES. I DISCOVER FROM TIME TO TIME WHERE SOMEONE HAS CREATED A BRIEF MEMORIAL FOR SOMEONE IN MY MAINTAINED FAMILY HISTORY. MANY OF THESE EXISTING MEMORIALS HAVE BEEN CREATED BY UNRELATED PEOPLE FROM CEMETERY DATA, CEMETERY VISITS, OBITUARIES, ETC. I MAY REQUEST A TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP FOR FURTHER UPDATING, LINKING TO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS, CONSIDERABLE EDITING, ETC. I ALSO GRANT THE SAME COURTESY TO OTHERS WHO MAY BE MORE CLOSELY RELATED TO THOSE MEMORIALIZED ON FIND-A-GRAVE.

I have sent you an email concerning a request for a photo for Mr. Dupin, supposedly buried in Hardin Memorial Park in Elizabethtown, KY. If you do not receive one shortly, please send me an email and I will try again.

I'm glad to be able to take the photo for you. It's nice to have them for all to view and use for their ancestry also.
|Nan||RE: BEULAH MAY SONNER BLISS|
I took the picture today. I had an earlier picture, but went back out there just in case the date had been engraved. I will look periodically as well.

I was out at the cemetery today fulfilling request and rechecked Mr. Campbell. He still does not have a permanent tombstone. Are you expecting him to get one in the near future as it has been a few years since he passed?
|Michelle Hamlin Peterson||RE: JAMES CHARLES DEER|
Yes, I know it's a duplicate. I didn't know that at the time I first posted it though. I sent you a message immediately regarding the photo being a duplicate. I will delete it.

After filling your photo request, I saw that there is already a photo for James on his memorial. The photo I took today is the same. His stone has not been updated. I can delete my photo if you like.

I wonder if I may have your permission to use your grave marker and/or cemetery photos on my family website. Check it out at www.freienmuth-shortridge.com/shortridge/cemeteries.html. This is how I'd be using the photos and obituaries I find on Find A Grave, with 'used with permission' in the caption.

You have a photo request for this memorial, only if a permanent grave marker has been installed. I was at the West Newton Cemetery this evening, and there isn't an updated maker yet. The previous marker shown in the photo is no longer there. I will keep checking on this, I visit this cemetery at least once a month. Betsy

Are you sure there is a marker to photograph? It is supposed to be: Section I Lot 224 Space 4. I spent almost 3 hours and walked the entire Section I and could not the marker. I tired lot 244, 44, 42, 204, 214, 24, 22 but still not located any marker. Please let me know if there is a middle name which the marker might be showing, instead of Roy.
I will go back and try again when I hear from you.

You're very welcome. I think that is the actual marker. I know the family and it's something they would do. There are two little stones in front with "Father" and "Mother" written. I went last week and and saw the dates on the back for him. When I went back today I didn't even think about getting a shot of it. Next time I go I'll try and remember to get one.
