Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised in the Wesley Chapel Community in Houston County. My father, Tommie Johnson is buried in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. I still miss him. If you would like the leave him a flower, please do so. He was a wonderful man. My great-grandmother Anne Lightfoot,is buried in Widnes, England. She passed away not long after my Mother came to Texas.

I am also the ggggrandaughter of Captain Samuel Harrison Bowen, and also James Jennings. Who both lived when the Tea Party first sprang into action.

"Nothing is ended until it is forgotten...."

I believe very strongly in cemetery preservation. Marty Cash, a Fallen Graver, who dearly loved The Houston County Historial Commission, was dedicated heart and soul to recording Houston County Cemeteries, was my mentor. Please visit her memorial page and leave her a flower. Cemeteries in most cases are the only history of those that came before us. Like rare books in a library once it's lost it's lost forever. My only intention is to create a HISTORICAL RECORDING of those who are "Gone, but not Forgotten" before their tombstones are lost forever. This is copied from a fellow graver: "Get out and photograph memorials while they are still readable. This site is primarily for GRAVE photos not genealogy, preserve those memories that are quickly fading."

Genealogy, begins as an interest, becomes a hobby, continues as an avocation and in the last stages, is an incurable disease.

For those who wonder about such things, when the number of memorials managed is higher than the number of memorials created , this is due to a few members who decided to transfer their memorials to multiple findagrave contributors . . . and I was honored to be one of the contributors trusted to look after some of those memorials.

FROM THE FAQS:
How do I clean a headstone or grave marker?
Unless you are related to the interred on the headstone in question, DO NOT do anything to the headstone.

I am happy to share ANYTHING that I post. I have no crazy rules, My pictures are your pictures. Feel free to beg, borrow, steal with no intent to return. I take pictures of headstones out of kindness ... not for my ego or for the "numbers."

Be kind to one another because - One day we will all be, 'just a name' etched in stone.

Calvin Blake @ Prairie Lea
I posted a photo of the Blake and Upshaw family plot for your request. There was no marker for him that we could find. The flat marker for Louise was half buried in the dirt and a lot of the ground markers in this section tend to get covered in excess dirt and grass faster than in other sections for some reason. We probed around the ground but couldn't find a sign of a marker for him. He appears in a 1971 transcript of the visible markers for the cemetery, so at some point he must have had one, but it is either buried or missing at this point.
