I live in Middletown Springs, Rutland County, Vermont. I work mostly on cemeteries in Rutland County and neighboring Washington County, NY. I'll try to fill photo requests in those areas.|
If you are related to any of my memorials I'll be glad to transfer management outside Find-A-Grave guidelines unless it is a relative of mine or is in a family that I am actively researching.
If you would like to see my sources for any corrections I suggest, please just ask. I research every fact I submit and only suggest those corrections that I believe come from a reliable source.
Some of the families I'm researching, primarily in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont, are Brown, Horton, Fisher, Fielding, Gilson, Ripley, Hawkins, Treadwell, Jennings and Northrup. I'm also researching Arsenault and Brideau in Massachusetts, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

In case you didn't see it I also added a new memorial for another child, Samuel Ripley,nearby in the same cemetery but with different parents.

You're welcome, John. LOL, yes, please "steal" my bouquet idea. (-: Tip: Come up with something that reminds you to retrieve your bouquet, if you plan to reuse it. I can't tell you how many bouquets I've left behind, only to have them quickly trashed or mown over (depending on the cemetery and time of year). They're not terribly expensive at Michael's or such, but ... it starts adding up! I leave my "cemetery backpack" completely unzipped and flapped open, that usually reminds me. Okay doke, Amy

The memorials were created from the cemetery online records. I am seeing a lot of typos from those records that have found their way onto Find A Grave 30-40% of the memorials so far have issues. Where I can (like with you) I question each finding to see if it's real or a typo. It's a big cemetery, it's going to take some time to straighten out.

There is an outstanding question on the spelling of Louis/Lewis. Do you have any information on that? Is there a second (or rather 6th) person buried here?

I sent you an e-mail.
|Virginia Combs||Clara Mosier Brown|
Wow! Thanks so much for clearing up a mystery for us! We first came across Clara in the Washington Co., NY 1870 census and there were three children listed before my husband's great grandmother, Myrtie, and her little sister Grace. Then in the 1875 census those three older children were listed with the Mosier last name and I think it said they were born in VT., so we figured Clara had been a widow! I think the children were William, Frannie (and I can't remember the 3rd now). It's a giant jigsaw puzzle! My definition of genealogy is: the only hobby that gives you three new questions to make you pay for one good answer! Ginni
|Virginia Combs||Clara's correct number|
Sorry! Just realized I had Clara's number copied incorrectly...it's 134364185. Thanks! Ginni
|Virginia Combs||Clara A. Brown|
Finally got ahold of Clara's death certificate and confirmed that she is buried with George R. and Grace, her daughter. Clara does not have a stone but there is a lovely crabapple tree shading her resting place. Could you please add the relationship between Grace (42643689) and her mother (13464185)? Thanks! Ginni Combs
I appreciate the photo you took of Oliver Gladue. Thanks again.
|Virginia Combs||George R. and Grace Brown|
I found them!! You had not only created a memorial for George, but also for his daughter Grace. My confusion came from the city database I was working from which listed him as GEO S Brown. A totally different person was listed as GEORGE R, so when I tried to match things up, I couldn't do it. I think Clara, George's wife is right in the same location but will go back to the cemetery tomorrow to check.
Anyhow, thanks so much for creating the memorials and adding the photos of the stones!
