William Wiggs, Mt. Hope
I did not find a William Wiggs. However, I did find an old stone that seems to say C.A. Wiggs, with the dates you indicated. 1927-1910. Could this be your person? If so, I will put the photo on Find A Grave at Mapleton, Iowa.

RE: Nathan Broughton
Karen,

Got your message. I am in Canada on a trip so will be a bit before I get back to Tucson and do a serious look at the stone. I do have a few tricks to enhance the writing and will be happy to take a shot at it. Two things that I want you to remind me to do when I get back to Tucson - one to read the stone and the second is for you to remind me to keep looking for the documentation that I picked up on a trip there that helped me to confirm the relationship of the two brothers, your Nathan and my Amos III. I found and copied a document that showed that my Amos III had stood up for a daughter of Nathan's who was being married. My Amos III stood up for her and verified that she was of marriageable age. I was puzzled why that would have happened until I put the dates together. Nathan died shortly after the marriage so the probability is that Nathan was on his sickbed and could not stand up for his daughter. I believe that the document is hardcopy and I will have to keep searching through documents until I find it.

Feel free to write me at broughtonwindsorcn@gmail.com as this is my genealogy research email address.

Karen, would love to have you contact me, I am a Broughton family genealogist and a descendent of Nathan's younger brother, Amos III Broughton. I have been to both Nathan and Lydia's graves during my research. You can contact me through my family email "broughtonwindsorcn@gmail.com". It is a naming convention to describe us broughton descendents that come from Windsor CN where our John I Broughton settled after his arrival in American in 1635.

newspapers online
try library of congress Chronocling America. that project is placing all newspapers from 1836-1922 online. not sure how the state/city order was determined, but my local paper is already available. makes locating obits easier and search engine is good. website: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/

RE: S. Edwin Bailey
He is not related. I am recovering from surgery, so I can't go look for an obit. Do you have last names (Maiden) or any other dates and I can help do some searching from home. Do you know what year his first wife died and where, her maiden name? Do you know who Gretchen married? Do you know anything about Blanch?
