I grew up in Ridgewood New York and remember seeing and admiring the Original Houdini Gravesite before it was vandalized. But I really got the find a grave bug while visiting Novo-Devichy Cemetery Moscow, Russia. There I saw the following grave & I was hooked. It is of hands holding a heart. It is the grave of a Doctor who did heart transplants. If you like art, sculpture, architecture, great landscaping, and al little peace and quiet there is nothing better than a well maintained cemetery. Cemeteries are fascinating places and have increased my appreciation of history, art, & architecture. We often yearn for yesteryears but at cemeteries the past still reigns. I would like to than Jim for all the work he has put into his excellent web site, and to all the contributors for sharing locations & photographs. | |
