Bio Photo Genealogist and Researcher currently residing in Oxford, UK. Born and raised in Virginia, USA.

Interested in all family lines but special emphasis on the Clowser family of Frederick County Virginia and Gilmer and Greenbrier Counties in West Virginia. If you are connected to this family, chances are I have a wealth of information on your family lines and would love to share. I also have all of the records for the original Clauser/Klauser family from Germany. Get in touch if I can help.

RE: Transfer of Memorials
Hello cousin Alison,

As you requested, I have transferred management of the Find A Grave memorials for you great grandparents Rev. Edward F. Marks and Mary V. Minnich, and their daughter, your grandaunt, Galena Marks.

According my records, we are third cousins, because Edward Marks' younger sister, Laura Shepherd Marks, was my great grandmother. Remarkably, she is only one of my great grandparents that I knew personally. She lived her last years in my hometown of Albany, Georgia; and as a small child, I vividly remember our weekly visits to her home that she shared with her daughter, my grandaunt.

I would love to correspond with you and share genealogical notes on our common Marks relatives. I'll show you how I tracked down the location of the graves of Edward Marks and his father, our mutual great great grandfather, Jacob Alexander Marks, in Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke.

Are you still reachable at deependofshallow@gmail.com? Or, is there a better email address for you.

Regards,
Elliott Jones

Mitch Franklin
Found you on "findagrave" - Looking for parents of Elizabeth (Clowser) Wiggintonț
Hi Allison,

My name is Mitch Franklin and I am a descendant of Elizabeth Clowser who was married to a William Wigginton in Frederick County, VA. She was my GrGr Grandmother on my mother's side. I'm trying to determine which male Clowser in Frederick County was her father. In the 1850 US Census for Frederick County, VA she and William Wigginton are found living in the household next to Mary Ann (Clowser) Foreman and her husband John. From what I have seen searching on the internet she was the daughter of Henry Clowser (1760 – 1835). Elizabeth and William's marriage was bonded by a Joseph Clowser on 04/13/1835. Was he her father , an uncle, or maybe a sibling? Any assistance you could provide me on determining her parents would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Mitch Franklin

Cora Lee Martin
Hi - I was taking some pics today at Fair View Cemetery and took a picture of a tombstone for Cora Lee Martin. The name matches up with Cora's memorial you added but the dates are not the same. My photo shows b june 26, 1878 and d May 31, 1949. Not sure if you are positive on the dates on the memorial so thought i would ask if you are interested in the picture.

Thanks! Jody
