Since retiring in 2000 I have undertaken the task of locating graves of as many descendants as possible.
(1) Of my mother's oldest ancestor, Jonathan Whilden, who entered Charleston 1695.
Whilden, although, essentially an unknown name now, played a historical part in the Civil War from relaying the order to fire the 1st shot of the war to leading the defense at The Bloody Angle-Spottsylvania Courthouse.
(2) Of my fathers oldest ancestor, who entered Charleston 1768 with his family from Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland. Many of these migrated west to Georgia, Alabama, & Texas.
As indicated I retired in 2000, live in SC, have a wonderful wife of 52 years, 2 children and 2 grandchildren that like all grands I love to be obnoxious about.
Will gladly take pictures for any looking in this area.

RE: Greenwood Cemetary Request
Thanks for searching. As you enter the cemetery from Cascade Road, follow the main road and bear left at the first fork, Follow the left fork up the hill; it makes a sharp right turn at the top of the hill. The Jewish section will be on the right. Bear left at the next fork (really continue straight). Just beyond the next intersection there is a short wall on the left with some steps. The Briant plot is on the left near the wall. Please take pictures of Beulah and Paul Briant. The Crane plot (Thomas and Stella) is across the road and beyond the large plot of the typographers union. The Crane marker is a large granite marker with a rough surface. I hope this helps.

Greenwood Cemetary
Please find out as much info as you can about the location of the stone. I was there today 12/23/2016 and it was tough to find stones. There wasn't an office or anyone on the property and for some reason all of the street/lot signs were painted over in black. I will try again another time.

Incorrect Photo
Can you check and, if you concur it's wrong, remove your photo on memorial 28304130?

Looks like you might have mixed up an upload, as the photo is of the wrong grave.

I plan to go back out to cemetery, and I will get a better shot. This one is a little out of focus. Check it in a day or so,
