.."In all of us there is a hunger, marrow deep, to know our heritage.. to know who we are and where we have come from." Alex Haley|
For the past 20 years I have been on the genealogy staff at the Mesa Arizona FamilySearch Library. Some of my specialties are internet genealogy research and U.S. military records. I have been researching my family genealogy most of my adult life
I consider all transfers, other than the Price/Nance family memorials. These are non-negotiable. I reserve the choice to follow the 4 generations Find A Grave suggested transfer rules. Please list your profile name and number. Thank you.
Please use the memorial EDIT option to make all corrections, additions and transfer requests. Please do not send public messages without listing the name and memorial number. It is very difficult to locate a memorial without the memorial number.

We are working on records for Stavanger Cemetery in LaSalle County, Illinois. You have posted a memorial for Bertie Boyd. We have been told by cemetery officials that she was moved. Do you know where? We would appreciate any assistance you, or her family, can give to us.

Thanks for the transfer and I will put the memorial in the cemetery that the funeral home stated she was buried in. Let's hope and pray it's the right one. Thanks Again.

|Jacki Bierma||RE: research|
If you would like to send me a private message via my e-mail address on my home page so that all my "hints" don't show up on your profile page, I will give you some "shortcuts" I have learned over the past 10 years I have been doing research.
|Jacki Bierma||RE: edits|
No apologies ever needed - you have been wonderful. I have no expectation about "speed" on these edits.
Thanks so much,

I posted the obit, as requested. But there is no need to transfer to me. Thanks for the offer though.
|Jacki Bierma||RE: Eldora|
Thank you for the offer but I am a native of Missouri and almost all of my family is buried there or just up over the border in southern Iowa. I just follow my husband around the midwest for his job and Eldora just happens to be that location at this time - thus my travels over there from Wisconsin monthly to visit him.
|Jacki Bierma||RE: Eldora|
Thank you for the kind words. It is e-mails such as yours that keeps me doing this.
|Jacki Bierma||RE: dates|
Need some advice regarding dates. I am currently working on the Perkins family in Eldora Cemetery. They had a daughter, Susan #150646835, listed in the 1870 census as being age 1. However, the cemetery record that I have states she died Sept 15, 1876, age 1 year and also matches what you have. Do you suppose that her entry in the ledger should have said "age 7" instead of age 1? I think someone made a mistake in the cemetery ledger entry. The death year is probably correct.
I feel as if we should put a note on this entry due to the discrepancy of her age???
What do you think in this case?
|Jacki Bierma||RE: ELDORA|
Thank you for doing this. I research every single entry before making changes - using the census reports on Ancestry to put the families together and THEN, after I have the families together, I check family trees because they often have tracked down wives of the children which is much harder for me to track and more time consuming, and, I find they are often listed in the same cemetery which gives me the dates from family trees to be able to link them to their husbands.
Once in a while, I mistakenly follow a family tree and not do my own investigation. I have found that when I do ONLY a family tree, I often get burned.
I just have an personal issue of single person entries in any cemetery when I know they are probably all related to each other and thus, my additional research on every person in Eldora (and all other cemeteries)before I send edits. Many people who do not have an Ancestry subscription cannot trace their family tree easily and without practice, have trouble linking their family members together. I consider this a privilege to do research for them if it helps someone find their family.
Thank you for all your help with Eldora Cemetery - it is truly appreciated.
