Hi, my name is Maggie, and I currently live in Virginia with my husband and children. Genealogy has been one of my hobbies since 1993. I enjoy researching whether it is for my own famly or for others. Most of my memorials have no relationship to me. I hope posting these online is of help to others searching for their families. If you find errors on any of my entries, please e-mail me. I will be glad to fix them. If you find your family memorial that I've entered and would like ownership, let me know so I can turn it over to you.|
A special thank you to the photo volunteers that have taken pictures of my family and uploaded them for me.
A CEMETERY EXISTS BECAUSE EVERY LIFE IS WORTH LOVING AND REMEMBERING. IT IS A SUSTAINING SOURCE OF COMFORT FOR THE LIVING.
PRESERVING HISTORY AND BEAUTIFYING
ALL SAINTS CATHOLIC CEMETERY
I'm currently working on memorials for this cemetery which is a work-in-progress. On the Find a Grave page it states that 68% of the photos have been taken. However, my brother-in-law, Johnny and I have photographed the entire cemetery and there are many headstones that are either missing or unable to read due to age. Numerous headstone tablets have fallen off their bases, and footstones are broken or crooked. A large number of graves are very old. Even though the preservation of headstones rely on family, many of the deceased have no surviving family members and/or have moved away and cannot care for landscaping or markers.
I'm constantly updating this cemetery. If you see any errors or would like to add new information, I would love to hear from you.
If you have a loved one buried at All Saints and would like flowers or a plant put at their headstone, please contact me so we can work something out. I won't charge you for my time or gas just the actual cost of the flowers/plant of your choosing. There are so many urns just waiting to be filled. I will email you a picture of your family memorial with the flowers. Also, if you would like a headstone rubbing, I would be more than happy to accommodate your request (free). In the near future, we're hoping to locate all veterans at this cemetery and place small U.S. flags on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day. So far, we have located 200+ veterans, but we think there are many more buried here.
Also, note that if you plan a day visit to All Saints, there are hardly any shade trees so bring plenty of water. Unfortunately, the lots and sections are no longer marked. Until a map of the cemetery is done, you probably will have to walk around to find your loved one. A word of caution - the ground is not level so be careful where you step.

Thank you! I am trying to reconcile the Find A Grave and VA lists for several of the Veteran's Cemeteries, and it's been an interesting task.

St. Paul's Cemetery Portsmouth Virginia.
Grave Memorial# 74907390.
The grave is listed as no headstone or plot location. Is there anyway I can get further information provided to me? Such as an intermittent card.

Just wanted to let you know that the photo that was mistakenly posted to Washington's page has been removed - thanks for your help!
|Anonymous||RE: Washington Donovan|
Done what happened Washington is Grave 92 and the other is Grave 84. Thanks for the catch

Good point. I was thinking the death certificate was a verified document. But if you think that may not be the case and that the headstone could be more accurate, then I agree it should be left as is.

Thank you for accepting the edit for the memorial of Mary Hagee #23048977
I would be pleased if you would read my Bio and visit my parents' memorials by clicking on their links.

We have a problem on this memorial. I checked it to read the obituary based on your question and found that your memorial, now moved to the correct cemetery, is a duplicate of one created several years earlier based on the tombstone in place at Mount Calvary.
I suggest you copy the obituary from your memorial and send it to John Shuck, the creator of the earlier memorial for H. Doyle Woods, and ask him to post it to his original memorial. I would add a comment in parentheses to the end of the obituary saying it was obviously in error based on the physical location of the tombstone.
Sound like a plan?

Maggie....Thank you, Ken
|Louis Slade||Thank You|
Thank you so much for the information recently added that enabled me to 'grow' my family tree. I didn't know the maiden names of my great-great-great grandmother nor of her daughter. Your posting of their death certificates provided that information which is invaluable.
