Thought for the day: Thought for the day: If you're waiting for your chance to win the lottery, take a look at some of these headstones where the person lived a few decades, a few years, a few months or even just a few hours and then you'll realize you're already the big winner.|
I've been doing general genealogy for a little over a year now (as of August '09). I get pictures of headstones here and there hoping it will help somebody somewhere and I consider it an honor to post cemetery information of the men and women that served this great land called the United States of America.
I've taken cemetery pictures in 30 states, Washington, DC and Canada and my favorite state for pics is definitely (southern) Louisiana.
Some of the surnames in my tree include Thompson, Liles, Southards, Chester, Stacks, Causey, Shipp and McDaniel.
The (famous) ancestor that I am most proud of is King Robert (the Bruce) I of Scotland.
UPDATE: April/2012 (I almost made it three years without putting some sort of gripe in my bio) - If you're going to ask for a transfer, please don't use some cheap excuse like, "I would like to link them to my family" or "I would like to make updates". Any knucklehead can do those things. Just ask for the transfer and I'll probably do it. I generally don't even care about the transfer guidelines. Honesty is more important. Just say (something along the lines of), "They are directly or indirectly related to me and I would like to have them."
Gripe #2 (July 2012) - Please don't post death certificates where you are supposed to put pictures of the person and headstone. Send a SAC with the birth and/or death information and parents if available. About the only thing left is what they died of and do we really need to know that?!?!

|Jim Adcock||Alabama Ward Myers Find A Grave Memorial# 41535876|
1st: Those are some cute boys in the picture!
2nd: Thank you for doing this. It is a very meaningful and thoughful work.
My Question: In the above referenced contribution the name you reference is "Alabama Ward Myers". The name "Ward" isn't referenced on the tombstone, so how were you able to associate the name Ward with Alabama?
Alabama is my GGGrandmother, and I have been unable to trace her parents or her first husband's family (Sissle). I've been unable to establish her madien name - other than your ference here and would like to know more. Even though he isn't listed in the Find A Grave her son from the first marriage "James Patterson Sissle" as well as his wife "Amanda (Quick) Sissle" and their daugther "Madie Adcock" are all also buried in the Heath Cemetary.
Again, thank you for any help that you could provide on this.
|Bob Myers||Robert The Bruce|
My mother, now deceased was Ida Helen Anderson,
daughter of Mary Ethel Campbell. Mother told me
that we were related somehow to Robert the Bruce
of Scotland. She told me a story about how he was
being hunted by enemies, hid in a cave after which
a spider wove a web over the entrance of the cave,
making his pursuers think that no one was in the cave. Thereby he escaped capture.
Mother's grandfather was Robert Ely Campbell.

I think that is the only way to keep it straight.

Thanks for the informatin on Martha Rowland. I have added this to her page. She was a good friend of ours.
|Linda Wayman||Re: Mildred Hines|
I added the links to her parents. Thank you for all you do for Find A Grave.
If you were wondering, what's happened to my entry of Heli Kristiina Korve, I got a message from her sister. Her wish was to get it removed permanently. So, I'm so sorry the photo of Heli you've added is also removed. She's remembered anyhow in the memory of her friends like you. Many warm thanks!

Sorry about the incorrect entry. The obituary was incorrect and therefore was misleading as to the cemetery.
