Hello! We are the Cemetery "Hoppers" Committee for the White River Valley Historical Society (WRVHS), which is located in Forsyth, MO and has been in existence for nearly 50 years. There are over 170 known cemeteries in Taney County, and we have transcribed nearly all of them, including the largest ones! We go on cemetery "hops" at least once a month, and would love to have you join us sometime!

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION GUIDELINES: We will be pleased to add your additional information; however, as a historical society, we must provide the source for our information (if not found on the tombstone). If a specific source is not listed (ie. obituary newspaper name/date or death cert state/#), we will list your first name and FAG #, or email address if not logged in. By doing this, other researchers will be able to reference the specific source, or contact you directly, if they have questions.

TRANSFER GUIDELINES: We are happy to transfer if you are a direct relative and can identify to us how you are related. The exception to this is if one of our committee members is also a direct relative - in that case, it will remain in the care of the entire committee. (Several of our members have requested that their direct ancestors be maintained by WRVHS, in order to assure that more than one person is available to care for the memorial.)

HOW TO REQUEST A TRANSFER OR CORRECTION/ADDITION TO EXISTING MEMORIAL: Please click on the "edit" tab of the record you are requesting, and then the "correction" link. In the text box, let us know what your relationship is, and also provide us with your Find A Grave number (found on your bio page next to your name). PLEASE ALLOW SEVERAL WEEKS, as only a couple of members handle these, and have full work schedules; consequently, the requests are only checked once or twice a month.

Thank you! - Leslie Wyman and Jeff Michel, WRVHS Cemetery Co-Chairs

Would you be able to create a Find A Grave Memorial for my aunt Wilma Thompson's husband, M. R Thompson? They are buried together. My uncle's name is Marion Reed (Pete) Thompson, Birth 16 Jun 1929 in Richmond, Franklin, Kansas, USA, Death 19 Feb 2002 in Forsyth, Taney, Missouri, USA. Thank you so very much.

Find A Grave Memorial# 23316717
I have found Nancy Taber/Tabor & Benjamin Tennison in the 1910 Census.

Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Big Creek, Taney, Missouri; Roll: T624_827; Page: 15B; Enumeration District: 0203; FHL microfilm: 1374840.
All children gone from the home.

1900 Census lists these Children:
Name Age
Benjamine Tennson 43
Nancy Tennson 43
Mary M Tennson 19
Aaron Tennson 18
Roda Tennson 14
Isaac Tennson 12
Martha Tennson 8
Rosemma Tennson 10 (B: Aug 1889)
The name on the stone could be Rosie, I know the dates don't coinside, but I am sure it is not Nancy.

I intend to keep looking for the burial places of Nancy & Benjamin Tennison.
God Bless you for your service.

can I help?
I just saw your interview on Ozarks Watch Video Magazine. I have been a Find a Grave member for a few years and I am currently trying to make my way through all of the cemeteries in Webster County, where I live, and transcribe all of them. I have been finding lots of graves that aren't on Find a Grave. In some instances I have almost doubled the number of memorials in some cemeteries. I just wanted to see if there were any special projects that you needed help with...like cleaning up a cemetery or transcribing or taking pictures? I am a teacher, and I need to find something to keep me busy over the summer to keep me out of trouble.
