Bio Photo Born Ridge Township Van Wert County Ohio but my roots go into Indiana, Kentucky and many others. Hobbies geneology and transcripting graveyards, Doing research in Van Wert, Paulding, Putnam, Auglaize, Mercer and Allen counties in Ohio; Bell and Harlan County in Kentucky; Adams, Wells and Huntington Counties in Indiana. Also doing search in Chautauqua County New York.

No thanks....I have been taking pics of my Mom and Dad's families tombstones and I have some that you do not. I'll just do my own thing.

Thanks for your note. I changed cemetery per your suggestion.

I assumed he was buried in Pioneer Cemetery as I believe death was also recorded in the St. John the Baptist Church records.

Birth/death date I list was from copy of County death record I found FamilySearch - month & day differ slightly from yours- was that the date on marker? With weathering of headstone (and my, I couldn't read all of the inscription.

RE: black photos
I have removed all of the black photos that I could find. I don't know why they were black. I have deleted all of my entries and have decided not to manage any of my relatives on the Hannon and Van Pelt side. You can continue managing them. If you find any more black photos, let me know and I will delete them.

I have the original obituary from 1904. May I add a picture of it to her memorial? It is in the public domain so does not violate copyright laws

Maxine Hurd Bantner
LIMA - Maxie R. Bantner, 84, died at 11:45 AM on Sunday, November 02, 2014, at Baton Rouge Senior Health Facility in Lima, Ohio.
Maxie was born on April 17, 1930, in Tazewell, Tennessee, to the late Grant Hurd and Myrtle (Owens) Hurd. On Sunday, October 10, 1954 she married James Keith Bantner. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2001.
She was a member of Bible Missionary Church.
She was survived by: three sons, Keith (Barb) Bantner, of Spencerville, OH, Kevin (Debbie) Bantner, of Pataskala, OH and Kenny (Yvonne) Bantner, of Canal Winchester, OH; a daughter, Karen (Mark) Schmiesing, of Lima, OH; a brother, Pascal Hurd, of Germantown, OH; fourteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Karl Bantner; four sisters, Ruby Lewis, Pansy Moloney. Vera Lynch and her twin sister Maysie Rowlett; a brother, Ralph Hurd.
The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m.and 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the funeral home. Rev. Jim Massengill will officiate.
Interment will be in Allentown Cemetery, Allentown, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
