I have been interested in family history since I was a kid. I started working on our family back in 1978 when my Grandfather suddenly passed and I thought....where did we come from? Ended up getting many family members interested and researching over the years. I enjoy my own family and also everyone else's family history. It is always very interesting and love to find things years forgotten. Everyone, even those who die as infants have a story to be told. I enjoy helping their stories to come to light.|

Glad I could help (in a small way) with your family research -- every little bit helps!

Thomas Dunlap was not a philadelphia fireman, but his son Samuel Dunlap was an Engineer in the fire department from around 1880 to 1908

Thanks for the additional information. Any chance you are related?

What do you mean by sideways. The name is across the bottom reading from left to right. Would be glad to correct but don't understand your request. Alice

|Jack ||RE: Timothy Mahoney|
My Great Grandfather, Dennis Mahoney, emigrated with his Father Timothy to Kellyville in 1881 when Timothy's Son, also named Timothy, paid for their trip. Timothy Jr. emigrated earlier and sent for the rest of his Family. I believe Timothy Jr did live on Denison Ave. He died in 1924 and is also buried at St. Charles. He was the uncle of my grandfather and had no children.
My Great Grandfather, Dennis, had 10 children and lived on Burmont Rd. My grandfather moved back to his childhood home when his sister Sadie died in 1981.

Thanks for posting my great great grandfathers grave
How did you come across his obituary ? I would like to read what it said
Did it mention his wife's name ?
My records indicate her name was Mary and they had 8 children. I know some of them were buried in St. Charles, as was my great grandfather Dennis Mahoney. My grandfather died in the home the home he was born in 4 years ago, had the funeral mass at Saint Charles, which is just 300 feet from his house where they all lived.

I also requested the memorial owner to add the family links for Catherine's parents, Vincent and Elizabeth, in St John's Cemetery at Old Saybrook.

I can see why it might have come as a curve. Nice of me to leave you a mystery message. Sorry about that.
You had left a flower posted on the memorial for Catherine LaCastro De Cristoforo, in Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook, CT:
"We are trying to put the pieces together of the fateful flight your brother passed away in on 3-24-1944 in WWII. This has brought me here to you so thought I would leave you a flower.Rest in Peace.
Added: Nov. 8, 2012"
Since it looked like you were researching the family, I thought I'd drop you a note here. Sorry for the confusion.
Added gravestone photos for Catherine and Francis.
Was Catherine's brother's body recovered and buried, or was he lost at sea?
