Please make sure that your emails say "Find a Grave" in the subject line. Please be patient as we have suffered two deaths in the family six days apart, and I am traveling to spend time with my mother and son as we struggle to find the new normal for our family.

My family line includes: Massey, Yount, Bost, Matthews, Davidson, Gay, Barger, Bowling, Bolling, Boling, Rolfe, Altman, among others.

Memorials Alton National Cemetery
I added a bunch of edits for Iowa Civil War Soldiers buried in this cemetery. This includes those that are placed automatically when you go into the edits on your home page as well as an email for each one asking for additions to the biography. If you don't want to go to hassle of adding the biographies you can transfer the memorials to me and I will do it.
Thanks for the photos and the entries in Findagrave.

Kersten Family
You asked for transfers of the Kersten's. I have no issue with transferring but please use the right way and ask using the suggest a correction and stating your relationship. I don't have time to be searching for all the transfer info needed when you use the SAC it is right there.

My Father
Hi Teresa I was recently looking for my father and put his name into Google and found this sight with a picture of his grave. Everything in the picture of his grave matches up with my father. I have't seen my father since I was 2 or 3 years old. I am wondering if you have anymore information for me on him. I have never met his side of the family and would really like to know them.

Thanks Teresa

Find a grave - Vivian H Riggs??
Hello Teresa, I sent you an email a week or so back but guess you are busy - I do hope you can soon help me to get this correct - Edward M. C. Abington is my great uncle - I have info that tells me his wife Vivian's maiden name was Chamberlin and not Riggs as you have listed - I would like to know how and or where you got the name Riggs from and be sure which it is before making any changes - Please contact me via here or via my email address - LShaw2@satx.rr.com

Thanks!!

suggest a correction
Hello, I sent you an email last Saturday and this is an update of the situation. The grave listing that you have as Ronald William Crow should be Cron. I am assuming this is one that was merged incorrectly recently. You can verify the spelling of the last name by the headstone picture. The last letter in the last name should be an N.
Thank you for your help in resolving this.

George Boblett
Hello,
I just sent a couple of edit requests on a soldier you entered from ALton National Cemetery. I wanted to send you additional information because at first glance, it may seem in error. He was 65 when he enlisted, proven by birth records from the church where he was baptized in Carroll Co. Md, July 16, 1797. He died of disease at Alton, I'm thinking he was a prison guard there. His son Leander E. Boblett died of disease while serving in New Orleans a year later. Here's a complete rundown if you need it:
**
Johann Georg Bobletts b. 24 Apr 1797 d. 15 Sep 1863
m. 11 May 1833 Susannah Kemp (Sandusky Co. OH.) (1808-1856)
m. Isabella
George was baptized July 16, 1797 in Carroll County, Maryland, son of Jacob and
Catherine Babliz. He and his wife were living in Seneca County, Ohio when
they patented 80 acres in Sandusky County, Ohio, 1834 They were listed there in the 1850 census, as Geo. Boblet, 53, born Md. On January 2, 1863 , George
Bobletts, age 65, of Genoa Bluff, Iowa, enlisted in Co. D, 37th Iowa Infantry Regiment. He mustered in on February 27, 1863. He died of disease
while in service, September 15, 1863 at Alton, Illinois. Although a number of senior citizens enlisted during 1861, itís fairly remarkable a man of his years actually served in 1863. He may have been assigned as a guard at the Federal Prisoner of War Camp at Alton, Illinois, where he died. He is buried in the Alton
National Cemetery as George Bobletts.
