I've been doing genealogy now for about 20 years and find FindaGrave to be invaluable tool for research. |
I have very deep roots in Giles Co., TN, Newberry Co., SC and Bucks Co., PA, so you may see me poking around in those cemeteries quite a bit.
I'm very active in genetic genealogy and run several DNA projects at Family Tree DNA. I've also had autosomal testing done on Ancestry, 23andme and Family Tree DNA.
I don't follow FindaGrave guidelines for transfers. If I manage a memorial you'd like to manage, please request a transfer via "Suggest a Correction." My goal is to get all memorials into the hands of someone who will add more info to it.
I'm hesitant to post dumps from family tree software in the Bio sections, so please refrain from sending that.
You're welcome to use my photos, but photo credit would be nice.

|Carol Payne||RE: Thomas Griggs cause of death|
Yes, I have that info. Just not sure where he's buried. According to a lady in Giles County says he's buried in the Smith Cemetery across the road in Lynnville from the Lynnville Cemetery, but his name is not listed there and although I've visited the site, didn't find the markers yet. There's a house (falling down) on the land and I've walked around it and been in the house, haven't found the cemetery. Will try to go closer to winter after brush dies back. It's really grown up. Don't really expect to find a marker for him, even though he might be buried there. A lot of that!!!
One of his wives, Eliza Angeline Taylor Griggs is buried at Prospect Cemetery in South Giles County.
They're my 2nd great grandparents.

I don't know if I thanked you properly for all your research on Bob Johnson.

I do believe that is him too. I wonder if we can find obits on Bob's parents. Maybe, that would give us some of his relatives names. I appreciate it everything that you have contributed. Such a blessing.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

|DHW||Mintie Gilbert Wood|
I sent you an email about Mintie Gilbert Wood, for whom you've created a memorial page. The email provides links and explanations for her life, including her death certificate and burial.

Sorry for taking so long to respond. I appreciate the information. Everything I have seen has him buried in Jerusalem.

You're very welcome! Should have entire cemetery done this year.

No, I have not. I had Martha's second husband's name, but I didn't know about their children.
|Linda Dean||RE: Balch/Hendrix|
I wish I did. I would love a picture of her as she was my great-great grandmother. Her son, Jasper Lafayette Hendrix, was my great grandfather. He and Louisa Balch Cole were half brother and sister.

Nope, I am just a local researcher here in Leeds. To my knowledge, there are no male Gilberts left in Leeds.-- Amy
|Barry Jernigan||Chandler family connections|
I'm with the Chandler Family Association and have a number of SC genealogy books in my collection. Would love to hear from you about exchanging information. I live in Rutherford Co, TN. Our annual meeting next year is in Greenville, SC. DNA testing indicates the Bush River Chandler are probably from Y-chromosome Group 16. I am taking charge of starting a CFA Chapter for that group. I an from Group 7A myself, but, I am Deputy Chairman of our Genealogy Panel and am taking on the assignment primarily because of my long time interest in SC research.
