Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Tonya Sapp Hames. I was born & raised in Laurens, SC & lived there for 25 years. I now live in Ladson, SC, with my husband, Stephen, and son, Christian.

I stumbled upon FAG by accident when I Googled my father, Robert E. Sapp, who passed away in 1991 & his name came up on this website. I have always been fascinated by genealogy. I have mostly been researching the following family names: Sapp, Nelson, Moore, Helms, Ball, Story, Belk, Kell, Woody, Fuller, Campbell, Richards, Myers, & Taylor; along with Hames, Crowder, Gregory, Kirkley, & West. However, along the way I have been doing other genealogy work as well. I am a FAG County Keeper emeritus for Dorchester Co., SC.

If you have any information that may help me with my research, please feel free to contact me. Also, when reviewing any of my work, if you see that I have made any error, no matter how large or small, please do not hesitate to contact me & let me know. I will ask, that when contacting me, you please do so in a respectful manner & allow for the corrections to be made. As FAG is NOT my full-time job, I do NOT work on my FAG information everyday, therefore, quick fix items will be taken care of in a more timely manner than other items which may take more research to complete.

Thank you for your work. Can you please tell me if you can remember if there were any other Wards next to J. H. Ward #35689013 in Blanton Cemetery in Lebanon, SC.

Thank you,

Memorials 95267537 and 95267474
Hi Tonya,
I was wondering if you would transfer the memorials for Charlotte Lee Ball and William Bartholomew Ball to me unless you are in their direct line of descent. They are my GR GR GR grandparents and I would love to take over their memorials.

If you are in their direct line of descent and do not wish to transfer their memorials I ask you to reconsider the information you posted on Charlotte Lee Ball's memorial about her relationship to Robert E. Lee. I have done a lot of research on this family and have never seen any proof of a relationship with Robert E. Lee. If there is such a relationship, it could be they are cousins at some level but certainly not siblings. If you have proof I would be very interested in seeing it. There are several other researchers of this line and none have found the relationship.

Thank you for your time!!!

RE: Elizabeth Ann Giles Black
Hey Tonya,
I moved the picture, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you about it being 2 different people. The photo with the group of graves shows Eliz. Caldwell Black as footstone and Eliz. Ann Giles Caldwell Black as headstone. From what I can gather from ancestry Caldwell was her maiden name, not Giles. Like I said I moved the picture and will leave it up to you as to what you want to do with it. Good luck,Wimsang

Eleanor Morrison Lawson
Lawson, Cudd, Langston, Broom, many SC and NC names
Tonya, thank you so much for your contribution to others through Find A Grave. You are helping so many like me who, because of age and health can no longer visit cemeteries. I appreciate what you do and also that you are caretaker of memorials. I have been on my genealogy journey since the 1980's and am still trying to do all I can with my family files so that my descendants and others connected can see their heritage. I hope you won't mind my making copies of your photos for my family files. May God bless you for all you do for others.

William F. Seay # 31129648
He is the brother of my great grandfather John Robert Seay. His initial F. stands for Fox, not Francis. I wonder from where your "Francis" information came. His obituary states "William F." I find "Francis" nowhere in my research. His maternal grandmother was Unity FOX Carter.
I would be happy to maintain this site if it is agreeable with you.

Nope. He's buried in Charlotte, North Carolina! And his grave even has a gravestone! The same name!
