I'm happy to transfer individuals unrelated to my family (or more closely related to you), or if you have some special interest in them.

Gravestone photos which I have taken may be freely used for any legitimate genealogical or historical purpose. Please click on the photo to make sure that it's mine, and that I did not just add it; I will credit original photographer.

Please also feel free to add more photos to the memorials - portraits, snapshots, etc. If you need more photo slots just let me know; if you have a better gravestone picture I'm fine with deleting mine.

And here's a standing "Thank you" to the usual suspects, for sending corrections, links & additional info for the local memorials; I know your work is impeccable!

**PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR INFO!**

Primary focus is documenting West Aurora Cemetery. Nearly all marked graves now have photos posted; a few fallen, broken, and overgrown stones still need to be identified and photographed. (About half of the documented burials are known to be unmarked.) Please check out the "unknowns" if you are missing a family member who you think might be buried at West Aurora!

RE: Mary Mead Laden birth place
Hi Lisa,
How do you feel about just Walton, Lee Co. IL on Mary's birth place? And they were in Dixon before 1918 because John's WWI Draft Card states he was living there during that part anyway. John and Mary were in Elwood, Peoria Co. by 1880 and Harmon, Lee Co. IL by the 1900 census. So, I am wondering if Catherine was actually born in Harmon, Lee Co, IL instead of Amboy? Really strange but the only thing we can go by is the documentation that you have. So maybe we should go by that? Let me know what you think and I will go with that....LOL

RE: Barbara Mary Lorenz Wolgast
Lisa,
Was looking around last night as well then I remembered that there was something on that county of DuPage and Kane counties boarding each other at one time. However, boarder lines cross or get very fuzzy and especially back when Barbara was born. Also realizing that counties also broke up and some went to neighboring counties to make them larger etc. Being aware of this aspect of all of this also county lines changed and mostly from 1840 to 1900 over the years and depending where you were at the time also depends on if those lines changed or not. There is a program one can buy (I can't afford this program right now) that states where those lines would have been, it is called Antimap. But I do not know where someone can find that program right now. I only know of this because I had a friend that owns a copy of this, however this friend is no longer a friend so I can not just ask her if or where she got it.
Yes, I believe that the name on the Wolgast Tree was Don. And believe me it sure saved me a lot of time. But with me I will go check out census records to verify the names I got as well. I have been doing this for 40 plus years and I do the verifying myself. Thanks so much for responding and not getting mad about how I say things. It isn't meant to hurt anyone but just to inform or to say do more researching on that subject before putting it on a public tree because people take it for granite is all. You have a wonderful rest of the evening, and take care.

Barbara Mary Lorenz Wolgast
Hi Lisa,
According to the Wolgast family tree Peter (Barbara's father) was born in Germany/Prussia (Prussia was actually apart of Germany) only the northern part was called Prussia at the time Peter and Johanna Marie Komes was born in. Germany and Prussia were two different states until 1860 when Germany declared Prussia apart of Germany (a lot of people from Prussia then came to the USA) They did not arrive here until 1867 and Peter Michael is only 4 at that time. Peter Michael is the only one listed with them as they arrive in the NY harbor aboard the ship Maria. Now back to Barbara, according to Peter's travel and where his destination was it was Ill. They do not show up in the 1850-1860 census at all of course, but by 1870 they are in Aurora, Kane Co. IL. Yes, it could be true that Barbara was born in Naperville, but in 1876 Peter was in Aurora, Kane Co. IL because he applied for Naturalization there through the court system and Barbara was born in 1876. Normally I have seen people live and work around the place that they apply for naturalization from. But I could be wrong but I do not think I am because there is too much evidence showing that they were in that area at the time of Barbara's birth.
If you have anymore to prove that she in fact was born in Naperville, DuPage Co. IL please feel free to E-mail me at: m54.ros@comcast.net. However, I am just starting on this family for a friend of mine...take care, Melody

RE: Barbara Wolgast
Lisa,
I am working on the Lorenz family, there is a tree up in Ancestry.com on this family. I will go look again at what I did as it was a week ago or so, I am doing two lines at once so I need to go check out Barbara so I can give you a proper answer. Normally if it is a family member that has information up and he/she is out of that particular line they normally have the correct information from a bible or something like that. There are pictures of Barbara and her mother in that tree.
Thanks,
Melody
