My birth name is Dorcas Arvilla Jordan-Cluck, (Jo) born in Herrin, Illinois. My gggg(4)grandfather was Thomas Jordan, Sr., who with six brothers, were the first white settlers in Franklin County, Illinois in 1804. Both my family (Jordan, Cole, Carter, White,Miles, |
McDowell, etc) and my late husband's (James Edward Cluck) family (Cluck, Braden, Hall, McFarland, Spain, etc) have roots in Hamilton, White, Saline, Franklin and Williamson counties.
My cousin, Jacque Leehy-Dunning and I have photographed several of the cemeteries in Southern Illinois of our immediate and extended families in additional Southern Illinois counties. We have a webpage on the Jordan Ancestors and I manage one along with my husband's cousin Jim Cluck on the Cluck Ancestors. We like to maintain accuracy in our data as well as that on the graves. If you have some of these to post and would like to check, please feel free to contact any of us. Also, when we request transfer of memorials we do so because we have direct relationship and the data we are collecting is being passed down to our children and grandchildren. Thank you so much and God bless.

Ritty is also in my tree. James Lane is my 4th great grand uncle so UNDERSTAND why I would rather not transfer this memorial. Please edit and add anything you would like and I will approve. Thank you.
|Deborah Lloyd||RE: Bradens at Bethel Cemetery|
Hi Jo, good to hear from you. Yes indeed, the Bradens are very close to me. My grandmother was Blondell Braden, daughter of Silas Otis and Olive Angeline Bishop Braden. Grandma Blondell had a number of brothers and sisters. They were:
Glen William (former sheriff)
So, am I a cousin to your husband?

Hello! I need some assistance with a photo you submitted to Armstead Hunt. The picture you submitted is the grave marker for Armstead Hunt (born 1808 and died 1881) and Emily Hunt (born 1810 and died 1887); however, it is posted on Armstead Hunt (born 1859, died 1915). Could you please tell me whether this photo was taken at Knight's Prairie Cemetery in Hamilton county, IL or Crouch Cemetery in Belle Prairie City, Hamilton county, IL? There seems to be some confusion about where Armtead (1808) and Emily are buried.
Thanks so very much!

|Chris Cluck||Cluck family member|
I'm the descendant of the Knight's Prairie Cemetery Clucks-my gggrandfather was James M. Cluck, brother of Geo. W. Cluck, Sr. My ggrandfather was John W. Cluck, killed 1925 in the Tri-State Tornado, and my grandfather was his son, James B. Cluck. Was wondering if you could help with any geneaology beyond James M. and Geo. W.?
Appreciate any help!

|Spicediva||Children of Willis Hall|
It is not possible for Willis Hall b. 1855 to have had children when he died in 1871 he was only 16 years old unless he was a father by the age of 10, I guess it could be possible but during those times I am not too sure. At the bottom of the Stone I do see that these individuals were the children of E.J.Hall. I am not able to see the first part of the line since it is cut off the picture. Willis was the child not the parent, if that could be corrected as per the information on the stone :). I am also researching the Hall family, I am looking for the parents of John Strother Norman b. 1808 d. 1849 buried in Old Ruff Cemetery. I believe he was from Tennessee or Virginia. He was married to Nancy Hall.

Thank you Jo! I thought the picture was adorable too. It was with family photos we inherited, but sadly I don't know who the little sweetheart is. God Bless you and yours!
