Though I have been researching my genealogy for nearly 25 years, I have only just discovered Find A Grave and I am very excited about what I am seeing. At this point, I believe I very much want to be a part of it.
My earliest know Armstrong ancestor, Campbell W. Armstrong, was born in 1809 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He moved his family to Eaton, Preble County, Ohio about 1860. Removed to Wabash, Wabash County, Indiana about 1866 and returned to Eaton about 1870. Most of my relatives remained in the Preble County, Ohio area. Those that didn't, remained close, in Ohio or Indiana.
I, on the other hand, left Ohio when I joined the United States Air Force, and for one reason or another, have yet to find my way home.
I live, retired, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. If I can help someone find a relative here, please let me know. I will do my best.
Earl C Armstrong 58111735 Did you know that Earl C Armstrong 58111735 and Myrtle C. Armstrong Myers Thompson 58479624 are in the same sec and lot at the Dayton Memorial? He is in Sec 12 lot 348 sp 6 and she is in space 5. Do you know their connection? Thanks
First of all, excuse my answer from yesterday (I was texting from my cell phone at the dental office).
I just checked the 11 memorials under Colorado Springs Chapel and I see that I did contribute virtual flowers and pictures to several of these memorials but I have never heard of the Colorado Springs Chapel before?
I checked the 2 photo requests for this cemetery and it says it is 3 miles from me. There are only 2 cemeteries that close to me: Evergreen and Memorial Gardens.
You might want to check with one of the members who actually created the memorials to see where this Chapel is? It may be a chapel within Evergreen or Memorial Gardens.
I'm sorry I could be of more help to you, however, you have peaked my curiousity too! Let me know what you find out?
RE: Colorado Springs Chapel Are you referring to a particular memorial? I get most of my obituaries from the Colorado Springs Gazette, you might want. to contact their office. I will see what I can find too! Connie
RE: photo request Harley, Thank you for trying to find Russell and Mary Barnes' Graves. No, I do not have any more information and base on your information, I just put Russell and Mary Barnes' graves into Unknown. Hope someone finds them down the road. Richard Harkleroad . . .
Armstrongs at East Hill Harley: I have added all the information you gave me and linked where I could. As for Andrew Armstrong, he may not be in fact listed on the stone. The only way you may be able to prove he is buried there is to contact the office directly and see if they show a burial. I will go through my photos of this section and see if I have any other photos that might offer clues. I just haven't had a chance to upload all the photos in this section yet.
