My name is Joe Ross, 30 yrs old and I live in Kemp, TX, about 45 minutes SE of Dallas. My wife and I have been researching our families for a short time now and never couldve imagined how difficult it can be to find accurate information, but how rewarding it can also be when you actually make the connection. We still have a ton of work to do.|
**Special thanks to Charlotte Schneider for all of her help with stories, photos, and introducing me to this site.

You posted the headstone photo for Emery Thompson #28012873. Could you also post it to his wife's memorial Ara Tankersley Thompson # 28011597.

You have done a lot of work on the family graves. This is good. Family History should be perserved. The Reunions use to keep the family alive, anymore we are all too busy to bother. Kudos to you, Joe and your wife.

Thank you so much for your help, that would be great! Most of my family members settled in Kemp/Kaufman around 1880 when they first arrived in Texas. I was also wondering if you could help me locate a grave in the Kemp Cemetery? My gr-gr-gr grandmother, Rachel Selvidge (R.A.) I know she is there, because her name is listed on the records transcibed on the Kemp Historical Society web page. My father and I looked everywhere for her. We don't know if her grave isn't marked, or if the stone is old. I am pretty sure she would either be by her son, Thomas Selvidge, or her daughter, Saphronia Atherton; who is buried to the right when you enter from the small gate by the road. They all have really nice memorials, which makes me believe her grave would be marked. I'm not too sure who would have the actual cemetery records? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thank you so much for the photos. I appreciate you so much. We had a death in the family this week and I've been pretty busy with that. (My precious Uncle Leon)
|Charlotte Schneider||Hey Joe|
Wow...it sounds like you've been very busy. I have, too, but mostly just trying to keep cool. I bet the kids loved Disney World. Thanks in advance for Lucy Frank's grave stone photo. You know that is Margie's Mother.

Here is a portion of you msg to me. Did you get a chance to follow up?
"I took a trip to Ben Wheeler and visited Prairie Springs Cemetery. I did not find James Sanders headstone, I walked the entire area twice (its not very big) and never saw him. I did however get a number to call for the caretakers and will do so Monday".
