Bio Photo SUMMER 2015 MESSAGE:
We are currently moving to Salem, Oregon, so are behind on our edits. But we will get to yours as soon as we can! Sorry for any delay.
My husband and I enjoy finding monuments for other people and am extremely grateful to the volunteers who have found my own people for me. We've been working on finding the little pioneer cemeteries in the area and putting their inhabitants online. Four of our memorial pages even helped to catch a gravestone thief. Cemeteries are extremely vulnerable to vandalism, theft, and the damage of time and weather. We appreciate all of the volunteers out there who are working so hard to document them before they are lost to history.

I'm not a numbers addict or collector, but I adhere to Findagrave policy:

◊Find A Grave's primary purpose is a graves registration website.

◊Find A Grave's secondary purpose is a memorialization/remembrance site.

◊Find A Grave's tertiary purpose is a genealogical resource.

Transfers are only made within the guidelines set up by Find A Grave. These guidelines are in place for a reason - whether one cares to accept them or not. I am not going to debate what the owner has deemed acceptable for his site with members who choose not to agree with the guidelines. "The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it." I am willing to consider transferring ownership to you if you have a close family member among my records. I rarely transfer relationships more distant than first cousin... just having someone "in my family tree" or "a relative" will not elicit a transfer.

If you want information added to a memorial, go to the memorial and use the "Edit" tab to send me the information-- including family links. I will add information to the memorial, I do not transfer just because someone wants to add links or other information. Bottom line: what are you planning on doing with the entry that I haven't already done or am unable to do?

On the other hand, if you upload family photos or in some other way add value to the memorial, I am much more willing to transfer. I will always transfer a memorial if you sponsor it.

I welcome all corrections to my own work. Some records were imported using OCR so have inevitable errors, both from the original records and from machine interpretation. I am only human and make mistakes, too, but will always make it priority to correct them.

Sandra Hawkins Hagbery # 82557026
Would you be so kind as to transfer management of Sandra's listing to me? As you know, Sandra was the wife of Leonard, my uncle, the oldest brother of my mother. I would really like to assume the management of Sandra's listing. Thanks you for your cooperation.

Would you be so kind as to transfer management of Leonard's listing to me? Leonard was my uncle, the oldest brother of my mother. My middle name is Leonard and I spent time with Leonard and Sandra on their ranch near Paulina, OR. Their oldest daughter, Judy, died in Prineville last year. Given my close relationship with both Leonard and Sandra but also my first cousins, Leona and Janet, I would really like to assume the management of Leonard's listing. Thanks you for your cooperation.

Please consider transferring this infant son to me. I was able to locate his grave and now know this infant is a male, along with his birth and death dates. I did upload the photo and sent edit requests for the dates. I would like to keep this baby boy with his family. Thank you very much.

Hi. I'm researching Schells and saw your note of Barbara(#31613124) being the daughter of Michael and Rosina Schell. Can you tell me how you came to this information? Thanks very much.

#30990670 Curtis Peterson
Hi Carrie & Allen,
I found Curtis Peterson's obituary in my grandmother's scrapbook. My grandmother passed away in 1997 and she saved obituaries of family and friends. I believe Curtis' grandparents in Donnybrook (Mr. & Mrs. Miller) were friends. I'm sending it on the SUGGEST ANY OTHER CORRECTION OR ADDITION link, with hopes that you will add it to his memorial. Thanks for your consideration. Sincerely, Nancy Zeltinger Austin - Contributor #47321269

Are you still putting information on your memorials. I have been sending some along, but have decided if you are not posting them, I am wasting my time. I will not send anymore until I hear whether you are or not. Thanks.....
