Bio and Links
Bio Photo My brother "Skip" and I enjoy genealogy. He's my expert regarding Belmont county, OH. We both take photos of tombstones, especially of family members. Some of the surnames are Bain, Bane, Blaine, Budd, Curtis, Giffen, Giffin, Haines, Hepburn, Hinkle, Keyser, Long, Milligan, Pond, Spears, Shahan, and Terrill.

In addition to Belmont county, OH, we explore Ohio and Brooke counties in WV. I travel between Belmont Co and Columbus, OH. So, I make a few stops along the way, such as Cambridge or Zanesville.

I look for family tombstones across the country and try to link them back to Belmont Co., OH or Ohio Co., WV.

I have several GIFFEN / GIFFIN family trees at ancestry.com. There's my Giffen family which started with Robert and Mary (Bane) Giffen. Plus a family tree for the Andrew Giffin family.

My ancestry.com tree name is "Terry Magyar"

More recently, I've added family trees for Giffens/Giffins in the following Ohio counties; Athens, Butler, Coshocton, Licking, Miami & Hamilton, and Ross County. Many of these Scott ~ Irish lines can be followed back to the late 1700s, in Penn.

I presently live in Franklin Co., OH, but grew up in Belmont Co., OH.

RE: Calvin Giffin
You're very welcome! I found Luther Griffin and a Lawrence/Lawerence Griffin in another section of the cemetery. I got photos/made memorials for them if they are connected to you as well. Luther and Lawrence were in the same section (section 25) but buried several yards apart. Luther's wife does not appear to be buried in this cemetery.

Thank you for the transfer ... I will add biographical information, and I think I know someone who has a photo.

RE: Mark Albert
Gravestone says Marx instead of Mark, with a different date of birth, but matching birth year & death date as listed. I hope this is the correct person!

RE: Peregog, the name appears to actually be Peregoy instead. Apologies if either of these headstones are not the people for which you requested photos!

RE: William Outland.
Hi Terry,

Sorry about that. I was uploading as many as I could as quickly as I could from the library. It looks like you got it turned right side up. Glad I could help.

Terry,

What is "D2"? What is its intended use and where can it be purchased? Cost?

if you can call Crown Hill Trumbull County Oh and get section and plot # I will try to get your photo. The cemetery wants to charge me $5.00 per name for that info since I'm not related.

I will be visiting Woodlawn Cemetery and will attempt to get a photo for you if you can provide plot information: ie, section, lot and if there is a memorial.

Thanks for getting back to me Terry. I am surprised and very disappointed as I imagine many many others are. You and so many worked very hard to keep that site going. It was so helpful and everyone worked together to assist and share info. Why would it be closed? I tried to log in with my former name and password with no success. oh well, I'm sure lots of people are sad. Your efforts were greatly appreciated!
