I am a native of Utah. I am interested in my genealogy, particularly my Hyland and Russell family lines. My grandfather was Carroll Spencer Hyland. His father was William Andrew Jackson Hyland. His father was James J. Hyland, born circa 1818 in Ireland. James immigrated to the USA in about 1835 to NYC. In about 1852, he moved to San Francisco as a part of the gold rush. James and his brother John were Blacksmiths.

My Russell line is hails from Lanarkshire Scotland with Thomas Russell (1831-1891). My great grandfather, John Lynch Russell, was killed in a mining accident in Diamondville, WY, in 1899.
