An Arkansas history buff, I've had the honor of contributing to several published books on Arkansas history. My roots in Randolph County go back to the time before it was Randolph County. Two of my ancestors received land grants in Arkansas for their services in the War of 1812. Other branches of my family arrived shortly before the Civil War and then at the beginning of the 20th century. My attachment to Randolph County is profound and will never go away.
