Hi! I am an avid Genealogist. I love finding long lost relatives. I research mainly my Lancashire England, my Polish and my children's Italian ancestors. I have a Masters Degree in Education and teach Special Education at a local high school. I also have a Bachelors degree in theatre.

Good luck on your searches!
Cześć and Ciao, Becky

Hi again

Sorry to get it wrong but it would have been John Seal's brother William who was killed in WW1, not his father James.

Hi again

There was a John S Tierney who died in 1920 in Runcorn aged 28 (born 1892). The army say 31 (ie born 1889).

There was a John Seel Tierney born Stockport 1894.
According to http://www.stockport1914-1918.co.uk/soldier.php?name_id=2518 a James Tierney of Stockport married Elizabeth Ann Seal in 1893 in a Roman Catholic wedding. James was killed in WW1. Maybe John Seal Tierney lied about his age.

Does this ring any bells?

Peter

Hi Rebecca

John Tierney seems to be an elusive character. I can't see any record of his death, let alone his birth.

I suspect he belongs to an Irish family but I can't see why he ended up in Tyldesley (a town withing Wigan)

Sorry I can't be of help

Regards Peter
