I have been doing genealogy research for over 20 years. I started the hard way, back before the internet. It's so much easier now :) Since I have done so much research on my own line, I now enjoy helping other people with researching their own families and this website is a great tool. I enjoy not only listing memorials but linking people to their family members.|
If you want a parent or grandparent transferred to you (or a sibling) let me know. Regarding Findagraves guidelines for transfers related to direct relatives:
You might ask- What if a member will not transfer my relative to me?
If the memorial in question is a direct relative within four generations (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents) to you and the original submitter is not direct family, then your wishes supersede theirs under our "Family First" policy. If they refuse to transfer your relative to you, contact the administration and we will work on it for you.
Please remember that there are thousands of contributors to Find A Grave, and it is highly likely that some of those contributors will actually be part of your family tree and share some of your ancestors.
Also, the goal is not to "own" every memorial of those to whom you are related. The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it

Thank you so much for the information. You are correct; it is confusing. I've only been working on this a few months. When I was younger, my Grandmother had me write some things in her Bible, but we didn't talk about family history that much. Now that I'm retired, I thought I'd do a little work on it.
I was just in the Canton, Tx area researching the Phillips line of my family. I couldn't figure out why my great grandfather (Solon Baxter Chandler) would have gone to Texas, meet my great grandmother (Dillie Phillips), and then move back to North Alabama. Of course, I still don't really know, but it made more sense to me when I found Chandlers in my family who lived in Van Zandt Co. TX!
I haven't met Charles, but maybe I will one day.
Thank you for looking for the photograph.
This whole process is both fun and frustrating. I suppose it's easier now with the internet than it was previously.
I'm in Louisiana.

Julie, would you be willing to scan and email the photograph that you have on John Allen Chandler and Matilda Chandler's memorial pages and send it to me. I'd love to be able to print it. They are my great great grandparents. Their son, Solon Baxter Chandler, was my great grandfather.
Hi Julie, would you mind transferring the memorial for Willie Janicek to me? His memorial number is 63280714. He is a direct descendant of mine. Thank you so much for your kind consideration. You've done a wonderful job.

Rita Braynt Boerner

Thank you for the transfer of the above and all you do for Find A Grave. Also, I finally got to see a photo of Robert Bennett. He is everywhere I look. Thanks to both of you, you are appreciated.
|Sandra Steindl Rodriguez||Henry & Elizabeth (Dorgan) Fountain|
Thank you so much for the transfers of Henry and Elizabeth. It really means a lot to me to care for my great grandparents...
|Leah Stubbs||Thanks for the transfer!|
Thank you SO MUCH for the transfer of the memorial you created for Grace Ellen (Thomas) Stubbs. I have updated the bio portion of her memorial, and want to share with you that the management of it means so much to me! Thank you again! Best regards - Leah Stubbs
|VolkerG||photo contribution: ROBERT WILLIAMSON (1926 - 1996)|
Hi, J. Oliver, your photo contribution 1/21/2012 to the entry ...
ROBERT "BOBBY" WILLIAMSON, Jr
ROBERT WILLIAMSON (1926 - 1996)
Birth: May 16, 1926
Death: Aug. 6, 1996
..., the gravestone states Death "Oct. 6, 1996" slightly not matching the entry. I wonder the findagrave entry might not be correct? I'm not "into graves" whatsoever just came here to that entry by
