I have entered names on findagrave, knowing that there may be errors. It has not been uncommon to find different dates and names on headstones, family Bibles, and death certificates...for the same person. In instances in which I have a public record that conflicts with other data, I have tried to submit all conflicting information, without bias. Please let me know of any errors, so that I may present the best possible information.

|Wade Hicks||Samuel Vance & Alice "Aley" Carr|
I just answered your query and notice that ALL I wanted to know was if the stone of the identified Samuel Vance was double or single with Alice's name on it.
Sorry about the other long post. If you can't find it, I will go back & get the number identifying it on find-a-grave.
|Wade Hicks||RE: Samuel Vance & Alice Carr Tombstone|
This Samuel Vance is buried in the Old Union Church Graveyard in Guilford County, North Carolina.
He was married to Alice "Aley" Carr. There is nothing on Alice beside her name. Their daughter, Hannah married John Zachariah Lowrey, a brother to my ancestor, Mary Lowrey who married William Walker. John is buried in the Old Union Church Graveyard, also.
John Zachariah and his wife, Hannah Vance had a daughter, Alice "Aley". I had this same name of a woman who married a Fuel Crews. I have now connected this Alice as I feel fairly sure that she was this daughter BUT I was trying to verify that fact.
Also Alice Carr VANCE is now shown to have a grave and I suspect she doesn't have a stone.
Thanks for answering! The Lowrey's are MY family.

Would you please tell me if this a double Tombstone, listing Samuel & Alice.
I am interested in the Vance family as Hannah Vance married a John Lowrey. John Lowrey was a brother to my 3rd Great Grandmother, Mary Lowrey who married William Walker. Hannah married John Zachariah Lowrey, Mary's brother.

Here is a link to the image of the marriage license for Saunders Loggins (age 48) and Amanda Collins (age 47) on 7 June 1900 in Tobaccoville, Forsyth County, NC:
Note her name shows as "Mrs" Amanda Collins, so she had to have been married to a Collins before her marriage to Saunders and her parents were already deceased by 1900.

Look at your "edits" tab in the upper right of your home page and it should show you the number of edits for you to accept or reject on one or more memorials you've posted.

May I make a copy of your photo for William Henderson Anderson & Martha Jane Snoddy you posted at Mt. Herman United Methodist Church in Surry County? I was up there and neglected to take a photo of them and was going to post my cemetery data on http://cemeterycensus.com/nc/surr/cem173.htm. If so, I will ensure credit for the photo is based on your efforts.

You're welcome :)

OK that would NOT be Hannah's sister correct?
|Timmy and Cindi Bouldin Tilley||Hannah Holt Collins|
I was talking to Butch Johnson Saturday at the DAR meeting, he mentioned that Hannah's mother's name had been found by someone finding her sister's death certificate. I asked him if you had put it on Find A Grave and he said he thought so, but I do not see it on Hannah's memorial. It could be that I misunderstood Butch or he misunderstood me. there was alot going on that day. do you know anything about it?
