|Jean McCollum||Sarah Hardin (Story)|
Hi, I found your infor from find a grave. I'm trying to find out more information on Sarah
like was her maiden name Hardin or Story I had added Terry Pental Hardin 1881-1938 as her son.
On ancestry there is a Sarah Hardin listed as a sister of Pleasant Hardin which is my 2 x great grand father. I was told my grandmother name was Sarah E Story. There is a Sarah bury next to my grand father I found the graves a few years back.Do you know anything? thanks
Jean Hardin McCollum

When I first found your memorial for John Jr the death year was 1876 - same as John Sr. Last night, checking ancestry.com, many other peoples' trees had the same year for both dad and son. Makes me think that was the reason someone requested Find A Grave to merge them.
While I was making the new memorial for Jr I found a document on ancestry.com saying John Monroe Jr's death was in Mar 1880. That's the info I put on the new memorial.
The source notation ancestry.com gave was "National Archives and Records Administration (NARA); Washington, D.C.; Non-population Census Schedules for Texas, 1850-1880; Archive Collection: T1134; Archive Roll Number: 60; Census Year: 1880; Census Place: Precinct 1, Upshur, Texas".
I will be glad to transfer the new memorial to your care.
John Monroe Baker Sr is my 4th great grandfather.
My line is :
John Monroe Baker Sr
Osburn Irving Baker
John Madison Baker

You're welcome Carolyn.

I am wondering what you could tell me about my g-grandfather John Wesley Carroll. I have some records about their trip from Georgia to Jackson parish. I am really interested in his civil war life and after as up to a year ago I had never knew any of this. Just wish my parents had talked more about him. Thanks.

Thank you. Yes that would be great. Dottie was my Mom's first cousin and I spent many good times with her when my parents were snowbirds in Florida. She lived in Sarasota for many years before moving to be with her daughter in Texas the year or so before she died. She was in the service during WWII as was her sister Virginia and was quite a pistol!
Thank you again, Andrea Poynter McDaniel
