Bio and Links
Bio Photo "The country newspaper is truly a family record. It proclaims your marriage, it announces the birth of your children, it gives the obituary notice of a loved one of your family. It not only gives your family record, but the family record of your neighbors. Many do not realize the benefit their home paper is to them."
The Newton County News August 14, 1890

My count is unbalanced because I maintain many memorials for several contributors that are no longer on Find a Grave.

RE: Page updates in flowers. Really?
Thank you for the reminder. About six months ago I discovered this. SO I don't leave e-mails with info.

Nancy,
So nice to hear from you. Thank you for not forgetting me and my quest. I loved the newspaper articles and have added them to my tree. John Manker, who is also mentioned is my husband's great grandfather.
I deleted the Memorial for Griff. Thanks for the 'heads up'. I would love the obit for Nellie. Again, thank you so much for continuing to help.
Sharon.

Thank you for the kind message - I am more than honored to help out. I'll be back at the cemetery to take a few more pictures this afternoon. Next week I will take more of a section you all have listed.

Stemmons in Carthage
Thanks so much for the link to the Moses Hunter article. I inherited an old copy of that from Wilma (Coffield) Baker, who died in 2012. I may steal some from your nicely typed version. When I saw that article it didn't click that he was the man who married Nancy Hickman. I'm descended from her sister Artemissa. Nancy does not have a great reputation with "us" because she stole 40 acres of MO land meant for Artemissa Hickman Reynolds.

I'm historian for the Orr Reunion Association that meets in Mt. Vernon each summer. Many Carthage Campbells come. I added a bio and photo for James Stemmons. I've been adding photos and bios to ancestry.com and Find A Grave. I go in spurts. Would you mind sending me an email at elaineorr55@yahoo.com? I have some materials that may interest you.
