I live in Central Ohio with my husband. I'm a proud U.S. Navy veteran, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.|
Please feel free to use any photo of gravestones that I've posted for your family trees or research...no credit needed!!
Preserving a very old stone on a photo is a blessed thing. I always think of the ancestors in the future that will stumble onto this site and find that stone, that may be worn away by weather or destroyed by an evil vandal now, but has been preserved for them with photography here forever.
I'd really appreciate it if you'd visit my parents, Reginald and Dora Huffman's memorial pages and leave a flower for them. God bless you in advance for doing this!!
THIS IS A CEMETERY
Lives are commemorated
Deaths are recorded
Families are reunited
Memories are made tangible and
Love is undisguised
This is a cemetery.
Communities accord respect
Families bestow reverence
Historians seek information and
Our heritage is thereby enriched.
Testimonies of devotion, pride and warmth are carved in stone to pay warm tribute to accomplishments and to the life, not the death, of a loved one. The cemetery is homeland for memorials that are a sustaining source of comfort to the living.
A cemetery is a history of a people, a perpetual record of yesterday and a sanctuary of peace and quiet today.
A cemetery exists because every life is worth loving and remembering...always.

I have seen your photographs of my g-g-g grandparents graves, Levi and Sarah Henry in Tent Cemetery. I am looking for their son, James K. Henry. He died in 1859. You will know his story as it is his first wife's grave in Otterbein Cemetery that has the horseshoe image on it. His death was caused by being kicked in the head by a horse. I haven't been able to find his grave anywhere. His second wife, my ancestor, lived a long life and eventually remarried. She is buried in Pisgah in Perry Co. where her second husband's family is buried. He is not there nor is he in Otterbein. My great grandmother is one of his four daus. and I can't believe his grave is unmarked. I spoke with a person at the Fairfield Co. Geneal. Society and she said there is one grave at Tent Cemetery for M.S. Henry but with an add'l. note that it might be J.K. Henry. It may be broken. Do you know anything about that? My sister and I plan to be in the area in a few weeks and would appreciate any help you might offer. I will add information to the two Memorials. By the way, there is a James Henry buried there but he was a young child.

Thank goodness for you & the wonderful volunteers for your selfless volunteerism. Without you, those of us who don't live there anymore may never be able to find our ancestors!

Is this cemetary near Amanda? There is no info about it on their cemetary page.

Linda, I guarantee they have her picture because I got it out of booklet in the local library years ago before genealogy walked out the door there.
