Are all the Children In?
I think oft"times as night draws nigh
Of the old farmhouse on the hill.
Of a yard all wide and blossom-starred
Where the children played at will.
And when the night at last came down,
Hushing the merry din,
Mother would look around and ask,
"Are all the children in?"
Tis many and many a year since then,
And the house on the hill
No longer echoes to children's feet,
And the yard is still......so still.
But I see it all,the shadows creep,
And though many years have been
Since then,I can still hear Mother ask,
"Are all the children in?"
I wonder if when the shadows fall
On that last short, earthly day,
When we say good-bye to the world outside,
All tired from our childish play.
When we step out into that Other Land
Where Mother has long since been,
Will we hear her ask,just has of old
"Are all the children in?"

My mother-in-law's name was Edith Drennon Alverson. My husband and I are wondering if his mother, Edith Drennon Alverson could be named for Edith Drennon or if there they are even related. Or perhaps Edith Drennon was a great paternal aunt of my mother in law. Edith Drennon Alverson's father was James Drennon and her mother was Ivy Drennon. Just wondering if you and my husband are related. His name is Charles Edward Alverson.

Hi Vicki,
Is this the same cemetery as Summit Memorial Park Cemetery on Sanders Rd, Hamilton Co.,Tn? I didn't see any of the 8 interments listed on the Summit Cemetery list on The Summit Memorial Park Cemetery survey, nor visa versa...although the mapped location is very near Summit Memorial Park.
