I am from North Georgia, but am researching our family throughout the Southeast. I collect data from many sources to add memorials and have not personally visited some of them. Many of the entries from Cherokee County, Georgia are being entered from Shirley Morris's "Cemeteries of Cherokee County, Georgia." Her book is the first known compilation of burial records for the county.|
I enter these records to help others break through walls in their family histories. Please contact me if you have any corrections. If you are looking for someone buried in Cherokee County prior to 1997, I will be more than happy to look up names for you.
I will transfer memorials in accordance with Find-A-Grave's "Family First" policy. Please do not request a transfer of someone's memorial because you have their surname somewhere in your family tree. It is disrespectful to contributors when new users come along and ask to take over multiple memorials when they have no history of contributing for the benefit of others.

Will you transfer Dallas Smith over to me? He is my paternal Grandfather.

......may be my great-uncle. Do you know if his parents were Jacob and Margaret Catherine?

I discovered two memorials for Herbert J O'Bryant. I believe the one that posted his burial along side his wife in Cherokee Memorial Park, Canton GA is the Correct one. Here are the ones I found. Since the post at Ophir did not have a picture of the headstone and I know the family I believe the one at Ophir Baptist Church should be deleted but I'll let you decide. Thanks for checking into this.

Hi! I'm relatively new to F-A-G, and related efforts. I think I've found a new cemetery and would like to explore it. We're probably practically neighbors, and I'd love the chance to meet. Could you contact me please?

I know their headstones show their deaths as April 2, 1934 but I happen to have ran across their death certificates and both deaths are recorded as Mar. 26, 1934. This is not my family tree but I thought someone would be interested in these death certificates. They can be found at familysearch.org under the GA Deaths. Her death certificate is 9124 & his is 9123. Hope this information helps others in their research.
|dedted29||John B. Cook b. 1899|
You have John B. Cook, Memorial# 67995580, b. 1899, as a spouse to Cynthia M. A. Tedder Cook, b. 1833, Memorial# 102203628, but Cynthia M. A. Tedder married John B. Cook in 1855 which is before the John B. Cook you cite as her spouse was born. The 1860 census shows JB Cook with wife Mary in Fairplay Dist, Cherokee Co. which the same district the Tedders are residing in in 1860. The 1860 census cites JB and Mary Cook with 2 boys, Joseph M., b. 1856, and Edward, b. 1857.
You'll find the records here:

|Bill Guion||Lula Mae Graham (Memorial# 55861635)|
I have uploaded a photo of Lula Mae Graham's headstone to her memorial page (Memorial# 55861635). I also have a photo of Laura Mae Graham's headstone. Laura Mae died in 2007, after Shirley Morris' book was published, and I don't find a memorial for her.
If you would like, I would be happy to email the photo of Laura Mae Graham's headstone to you, so you can create a memorial for her. I would assume she is related to Lula Mae, but have no idea what the relation might be. This is not a family I am researching.
Please let me know how you would like for me to proceed. You may contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
