Bio

My name is Melanie, I got involved in this website when I was curious about what graves of some of my favorite film and music stars looked like. I have been interested in cemeteries since I was very small. I've lived in Northern California since 1987. I am a forestry technician and inspector for the US Forest Service and have worked in the Tahoe National Forest since 1999. Hence, I tend to know where to find some of these obscure little pioneer cemeteries that are hidden deep within the forest. If you have a family member or friend buried in Nevada, Sierra, El Dorado, Yuba or Placer county, California, I might be able to find it for you, since I've lived here over 20 years. If I have created a page which you would like to take over management for, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to transfer it to you.

As of April 2019, I'm currently living in Storey County, Nevada. I'm still learning my way around, but still doing the same as before, seeking out little known, nearly-forgotten pioneer graves within the National Forest, wild desert lands, and old settlements.
