Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way just call me Doc!
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing.

Two quotes worth remembering:

"Tread softly, dreams are buried here." Unknown

"If you wonder about your 'roots' you have two parents, four grandparents eight great-grandparents and 16 great-great-grandparents, and by the time you go back 10 generations 300 years or so- you had 1,024 people from whom you are directly descended. --Mady Castro

Vivian Lenior May Sapp (#70519490)
I tried to send you a note thru the edits, but it kept saying it couldn't be sent because of an error.

I just sent for some edits for Vivian Lenior May Sapp (# 70519490) for the following reasons:

Picture of gravestone for Vivian is attached to this record - Her DOB inscribed on stone is Dec 22, 1918 and her name is inscribed as Vivian Lenoir May.

This also shows her name and DOB: Per Internet: Ancestry.com - U.S. Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007:

Name: Vivian Lenoir May
[Vivian May Faison]
[Vivian Sapp]
SSN: 245055841
Gender: Female
Race: White
Birth Date: 22 Dec 1918
Birth Place: Gaston Count, North Carolina
[Gastonia Gas??, North Carolina]
Father Name: Samuel W May
Mother Name: Callie J Crews
Death Date: 9 Sep 1998
Type of Claim: Original SSN.
Notes: Apr 1937: Name listed as VIVIAN LENOIR MAY; Jun 1961: Name listed as VIVIAN MAY FAISON; 04 Dec 1980: Name listed as VIVIAN MAY SAPP; 04 Nov 1998: Name listed as VIVIAN M SAPP

Per the above record it also shows that her mother's name is Callie J. Crews (maiden name).

Thanks,

RE: Lillie Mae Crawford (139371636)
I don't understand Richard. Is there something I'm missing? Long Creek Baptist in Dallas is where I have Lillie Crawford's memorial.

Thanks Richard. A little bit too hot to be out taking pics don't you think.
