PLEASE DO NOT COPY MY PHOTOGRAPHS AND POST THEM TO ANY OTHER SITES. THIS IS A VIOLATION OF MY COPYRIGHT!|
PLEASE DON'T TAKE MY PHOTO'S AND POST THEM ON ANOTHER SITE OR BOOKS THEY BELONG TO ME AND MY FAMILY AND IF I HAD WANTED THEM POSTED ON ANCESTRY COM OR ANY OTHER SITE I WOULD HAVE POSTED THEM MYSELF. THIS IS STEALING AND AGAINST THE LAW.
Born 1959. Married, 6 children. Love history, cemetery art and gardening. I have been doing genealogy for 30+ years.
I am a historian. I document an event for future generations. I am not a "hawk" or a "vulture". I do not get paid for this, I do not gain anything from this. I do not wish to disrupt your grieving process. I do not do this to disrespect anyone.
I believe that after 3 or 4 generations, everyone is basically forgotten. Our graves sit there deteriorating without a care. I especially feel for childless couples or infants and children, they are forgotten sooner. I love this website, because generation after generation, our future family will be able to come here, and see our graves, and with a little love and care can see our faces also. Tracing our lineage will be so much easier for future generations.
I will post obits on memorials with proper citation. I know some people feel that this info is "private" or "personal" but.... it was PUBLISHED IN THE PAPER FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.
99% of the time this info is invaluable to genealogists. I have had cemeteries tell me they are private property and those interred there want privacy. If someone truly wants privacy, get cremated and scattered over the ocean, don't put up a huge headstone with your name, dates...... Like having a huge billboard up on a highway and you are asked not to look at it or read it........SILLY.
**Please, no drama. I report, ignore and block, rude or offensive communications.**
I also feel creating memorials for living people is disrespectful. Anyone can find names and dates to enter, but to truly do the job correctly, the names, obits, dates and links should be complete. If you add an obit, it should be as it was printed.
My paternal grandparents were Wavie (nee Rench) & Jesse Botkin. She was the first schoolteacher in Atlanta. Jesse ran the store in town. I have a 2006 copy of the cemetery records. I will try to get the transcribed into Find A Grave.
I do my best to post accurately and respectfully.
I LOVE FINDAGRAVE. I love making corrections. I want my memorials to be as complete as possible. Bring on the additional information. I am on here every day.

|Thomas F. Vining||Memorial #120769298|
Information in this memorial (for "Ralph Leonard Vining") says that he was a son of "Thomas & Charlotte (Smith) Vincent". Was there a name change, or is one of these surnames incorrect? I noted that there are several Vincents reported for Belvidere Cemetery (Belvidere, Illinois) but only one Vining.
Thank you for the update on his cemetery.

I visited the cemetery today and found stone for William and Linnie Flowers, but the dares for William on the stone are 1870-1947, not 1927.

Research has revealed that she is buried as
Lue C. Van Camp 19584317. I know the obit said that she died as Lucinda Anderson which is correct. It also said she was married two times which was incorrect. She was married four times.
Her first marriage was to James Van Camp and she was buried beside him. I suppose her name was already on the stone. Her second marriage was in Marion County, IL Aug 5, 1903 to James Sipes. Her third marriage was in De Witt County, IL July 5, 1911 to John William Johnson. Her fourth marriage was Oct 6, 1915 in St Louis, MO to Oscar Anderson.
She is on the 1880 census as Lucinda Van Camp in
Marion County, IL. She is on the 1900 census as Lucinda Van Camp in Mclean County, Illinois. She is on the 1910 census as Lue Sipes in De Witt County, Illinois.(Her age is way off and her son Donald is with her on the 1910 census.) She is on the 1920 census as Lucinda Anderson in De Witt County, Illinois.

I received your suggestion to add the middle initial "B." to the memorial for John Houchin (1804 Warren Co., KY - 1861 Bell Co., TX). I am curious as to what documentation you have for the middle initial. I have done extensive research on John Houchin and his descendants and have only ever seen him listed as "John Houchin" with no middle name or initial.
As he is my 4th great grandfather, I want to make sure that the information added to his memorial is correct. If you could share your source for the middle initial, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for this transfer.
|Larry Parker||John Besenhofer|
I am not related to any Besenhofer. I have just been going through naturalization records from northern Illinois on familysearch.org. When I find a Declaration of Intention document (which all have one photograph of the person) I check to see if the person has a memorial on Find A Grave. If so, then I crop, fix, and post the photo, and I include a link to the naturalization documents in the caption.
Naturalization documents are one of the few ways to find the town where immigrants were born.

Hello, thank you for adding the obit for Uncle Art. Is there a chance you could transfer this memorial for me to manage? Art is my great uncle.
Hello there! Lawerence Stone was my Great Grandfather. His father was Joel F. Stone. Until recently I couldn't find his birth mother. I have now uncovered it. Her profile number is 132105022
Thank you in advance!
Also, I would love to maintain Lawrence's Memorial Page. Thank you
