|g h||copyright and privacy right violations by you|
There are 3 serious issues that require you to immediately remove the story of Mary Ida (Todd) Halsey-Starin-Crowell, the three photographs of her, and your mentions of living family members' names--all of which you have posted in violation of copyright and privacy rights on Find-A-Grave, and on any other website to which you may have posted those items:
#1. All three pictures that you posted to Find-A-Grave, and possibly elsewhere: Mary, Mary with David Halsey, and Mary with Fred Starin, are under my copyrights from having been scanned and reproduced from my father's private photo album given to him by his mother Mary (Todd) Halsey-Starin-Crowell, and published in digital form by me in 2001. Shortly after that time, I sent digital copies to your aunt Mary Beasley, my Halsey cousin, who was aware they were copyrighted, and who understood that they were for your family's viewing only and no other use. You obtained and illegally published my digital photos on the internet without my permission and in violation of my copyrights.
#2. Your posting of information about Mary Todd on Find-A-Grave, and possibly elsewhere, is a shocking, almost word-for-word plagarism of my Todd Family paper, the research for which I conducted over a number of years at my own expense. I published my Todd Family paper in 2002, in Dayton, OH, under my name and copyright. I subsequently sent a copy of that paper to your aunt Mary, my Halsey cousin, with the understanding that it would be for viewing only by the Beasley family and no other use.. She distributed it to members of the Beasley family, including your father, from whom you obtained it. Your act of paraphrasing a few sentences and adding some imaginary personal embellishments does not alter the facts of your plagarism of my work and your publication of it in violation of my copyright.
#3. By publishing on Find-A-Grave and possibly elsewhere, the names of living individuals of my family, specifically the names of my father, my mother, my brother and my name, you have violated each of our rights to privacy and made the information available to the public without our permission.
I have contacted your aunt Mary, who has allowed me to identify her here, and she is in agreement with me upon these issues. She and her mother also have serious concerns of their own regarding your unauthorized publication of private family information and the names of living members of the Beasley family. She will address these concerns with your father and you.
I urge you to remove the items from Find-A-Grave and from any other website to which you have posted them—and to do so within a few days of your receipt of this message. By responding as I have urged, you will avoid potential further conflict between us concerning this matter.

I just wanted to let you know that the elusive Mary Todd has been found! This problem has bothered me for over two years and I have tried to find her. I went to the nursing home where she lived but they couldn't give me any information due to privacy laws. I tried finding an obituary for her but also struck out there. Then the light bulb went off and I called Vital Statistics to see if they could tell me where her death certificate showed Mary buried. They couldn't give me the information over the phone but said I could either come in or send a fax or e-mail and they could give me the information. I did and they did and to make a long story short, Mary is buried in the Lower-Miami Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH. She already has a memorial there, created by Thomas W. Tankersley, but since Mary is closely related to you, he might transfer management to you. I'm so glad she has been found. Hopefully in the near future there will be a picture of her stone.

Hi Samantha. I have searched New Carlisle cemetery for Mary. I've looked under all her names. I went ahead and looked at the other cemetery around here and still couldn't find anything. I even looked on the Social Security Death Index to see if the names or dates were off and I couldn't even find her on there. I just wanted to let you know. Let me know if you figure out why I can't find her. Have a good day.

You are very welcome.

Hello again. The caretaker said he doesn't have her under that name. He said the only Mary that he had for 2003 is Mary Hoberty.

Hello Samantha. Does Mary have another name she might be listed under? The caretaker said he thinks she was buried under a different name and is supposed to check. Just thought I'd see if you knew and save him some time. I've looked for Mary a few times but cannot locate her.
