Addy, Bernhard(t), Bonner, Bunn, Davis, Gable, Gordon, Lesly, Lightner, Lites, Millsaps, Rawls, Swygert, Taylor, Thompson, Vanderford, Watkins and allied lines.
Please let me know if you think I may be of assistance.

|Cheryl Brown||RE: Eliza Gregg ?Wooten|
Ransom's parents are James Gregg and Harriet Kelly. Is that right? He has an older sister named Eliza who might be our direct line if she is the Eliza who married John Wooten - all born in Fairfield, SC. I would like to provo that. John Wooten and Eliza were still in SC in the 1880 census. Their son, Zachariah, is our direct line. He went to NC, but died in Georgia.
Please keep in touch. firstname.lastname@example.org
|Cheryl Brown||James and Harriet Gregg|
Found James Gregg (1808-1874) and wife Harriet Kelly Gregg (1814-1877) buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Augusta, Georgia. I think their oldest daughter, Eliza, married John Wooten from South Carolina. They would be our direct ancestors.
Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, thanks! I didn't know that! Thanks for your time.
|Rick Wood||Elijah Corley|
My gg grandfather is Elijah J Corley. I have been googling the Elijah H Corley at the Haralson cemetery for sometime and had dismissed it as ,y guy so one day I decided to ride over and take a look.
I noticed the the H middle initial on the tombstone is actually the last letter of his first name and not a middle initial. Thus his name is Elijah Corley.
I believe my Elijah to have been involved in the Creek Indian Land Fraud and lived around Columbus during that time.
I was curious if you had knowledge of this Corley family?

Hi M & R,
Thank you for these 2 websites; I have made a note of them to keep close at hand.
Do you perchance have a website to be able to check for GA Births & Deaths?
I called the Spalding Co Courthouse re: old birth & death records and I was told that even if I came in to the office in person, I would not be allowed to look at the Birth & Death records (of Jonathan's wives & babies that we don't have specific dates for) because I was not a daughter, granddaughter or spouse. I said, "are you kidding? These relatives have been dead for over 150 years! There are no such relatives to be able to walk into your office! She said the rule had to do with "privacy" issues. Again, I said, "are you kidding?" Privacy? They are long since deceased!!!!"
Anyway, gave me another number to call and I've not had any luck reaching some one there...I will try again tomorrow.
I did reach a very helpful woman at the Spalding County Probate Judge's office. She spent considerable time looking for a Last Will & Testament of Jonathan, but did not find one. I realize he died in Newnan, Coweta while living with his son Robert Fulton Milner, but I thought as a 30-year resident & merchant of Griffin, his Will (if he had one) might have been probated in Spalding Co. I will check with Coweta County tomorrow.
Do you live in the Spalding/Coweta/Pike Counties area?
Will do more research on the family tomorrow...I believe I'm "all in all done" for today.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Karen MILNER Freeman

Robin, Got your note, not a problem, I deleted my Memorial. I did check, guess we were making them at the same time :-) just wanted to make sure he had one. It was good to see you as well, our thoughts and prayers continue for Celie and all of you.
Mrs. Rutledge's death certificate says she was buried at South Bend. Death certificates are sometimes wrong but that's the evidence I have.

The cemetery is in a cow pasture now.We found where the cemetery had been recoded years earlier(in the Abbeville Library)...and native of Ireland had been on the stone. Wish we could find his stone. It is probably buried there or may have been broken.
