 | John Shatto - Jefferson Barracks Scott:
Thanks for editing the John Shatto memorial. The memorial for his widow, Mary Magdalena Ohl, was transferred to me...seems the creator wanted to turn it over to me rather than make the edits. So now they both have adequate bios and are linked together. Wish the creator of the memorial for ther son George Rufus Shatto (Catalina Island fame) would make the link to his parents.

 | Margaret Shatto Hello Scott,
I am new to this site so please excuse any goofs I might make. A number of years ago my daugher and I were staying in a lovely inn near Cedar Creek, VA. Because my birthday was coming up my daughter purchased a framed memorial that I had admired hanging in the hallway near our room. The memorial is for "Margaret Shatto" who died Nov. 5, 1874 and who was 67 years old. I was never able to find out anything about Margaret but as these things go, I think I may have found her gravesite based on the information you posted on Find A Grave. She would have been born in 1807. I have never taken the memorial apart to see if there is any other identifying information about her because the memorial seems to be still in its original frame. I will have my husband help me take a picture of it and post it on the site.
I am hopeful that I have finally found out a bit more about Margaret and will be able to give some context to her life. If there are any relatives who would like to get in touch, that would be wonderful.

Thanks for catching that. I had the wrong month in my FTM field but it was in my notes.

 | RE: Memorials Thanks Scott. I'll give some thought to this. I like to work on those for people I know something about. I guess you approve of what I'm doing for the memorials. Check out John Theodore "Jack" Shatto. I've added another photo & am looking for another one I know I have. See if he has the Shatto nose.
